A once-in-a-generation offering of two iconic Aston Martins – the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation and DBS GT Zagato – to cross the block August 13–14 at Broad Arrow’s flagship sale
Grosse Pointe, Michigan (July 23, 2025) – A pair of extraordinarily rare Aston Martins is set to take centre stage at this year’s Broad Arrow Monterey Jet Center Auction, held in partnership with Motorlux during Monterey Car Week. Taking place August 13–14, the headline lot is a DBZ Centenary Collection duo – a celebration of over 60 years of collaboration between the legendary British marque and Italian design house Zagato.
Conceived as a tribute to Carrozzeria Zagato’s centenary in 2019, the DBZ Centenary Collection pairs the evocative DB4 GT Zagato Continuation with the ultra-modern DBS GT Zagato. Just 19 pairings were built by Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell and sold as a set at £6.1 million ($8.1 million), with all examples spoken for before production began. Today, with only a handful ever likely to change hands, their appearance at auction is a significant event in the collector car world.
“The Broad Arrow Monterey Jet Center auction has quickly become a marquee fixture of Monterey Car Week, and what better way to kick things off than with one of the rarest collector car duos of the modern era,” says Alexander Keck, Car Specialist at Broad Arrow Auctions. “The DBZ Centenary Collection unites the past and present in an unparalleled way, making this a landmark offering for connoisseurs and collectors alike.”
An Icon Reborn: DB4 GT Zagato Continuation
Painstakingly hand-built over 4,500 hours by master craftspeople, the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation is a flawless recreation of the original 1960s competition car, reimagined with modern precision while retaining period-correct details. Chassis no. DB4/GT/0239/L is finished in arresting Caribbean Pearl over Obsidian Black and Connolly Blue leather with deep blue carpeting. A true continuation, it carries an original-style VIN with a 1963 date designation.
Mechanically, it advances the original’s race-bred spirit with a 4.7-litre straight-six producing 390hp – a 76hp increase over the original – sent through a non-synchro four-speed gearbox. Competition suspension, carbon fibre seats, Borrani wire wheels, Smiths gauges, and a black crinkle-finish dash complete the period-authentic driving experience. With only 62 delivery miles recorded, this example remains in as-new condition and is titled in Florida.
Modern Masterpiece: 2020 DBS GT Zagato
Paired with the continuation car is the stunning 2020 Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato – a carbon-bodied masterpiece that reinterprets the design language of the DBS Superleggera through Zagato’s unmistakable lens. Presented in matching Caribbean Blue, the DBS GT features the marque’s signature double-bubble roof, a sculpted hood echoing the same motif, and an active carbon fibre grille comprising individual vanes that adjust dynamically for airflow.
Under the bonnet lies a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine tuned to produce 760hp and 900Nm of torque, paired to a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. Inside, Dark Knight leather with embossed Zagato logos is complemented by 3D-printed carbon and metal trim – including a £25,000 ($33,000) silver 3D-printed inlay, a first for Aston Martin.

A Rare Opportunity for Discerning Collectors
With an estimate of $3,500,000 to $4,500,000, the DBZ Centenary Collection presents an exceptional opportunity to acquire two pieces of motoring art that celebrate a partnership spanning more than six decades. Both cars encapsulate the spirit of their respective eras while bearing the timeless influence of Zagato’s design philosophy.
“The DB4 GT Zagato Continuation is more than just a tribute – it’s a faithful continuation of one of the most revered sports cars ever built,” says Keck. “Paired with the DBS GT Zagato, it creates a dialogue between heritage and innovation, offering collectors something truly unrivalled.”
