Renault Group is entering a decisive new phase of its global transformation with the launch of futuREady India, a strategic rollout that positions the country at the centre of the Group’s long-term growth, engineering strength, and industrial ambition. The initiative marks far more than a regional expansion; it signals a structural shift in how Renault develops, builds, and exports vehicles for an increasingly electrified and digitally driven automotive landscape.
At the heart of futuREady India is a bold ambition: to elevate India into one of Renault’s top three global markets by 2030 while simultaneously transforming it into a technology and manufacturing powerhouse for the wider Group. This dual role, both as a high-growth domestic market and a global export hub, reflects Renault’s confidence in India’s engineering talent, supply chain competitiveness, and rapidly evolving mobility ecosystem.
The Group’s product strategy in India is undergoing its most significant renewal cycle to date, with plans to expand to a seven-model portfolio by 2030. These vehicles will span key market segments, from compact passenger cars to larger SUVs, and will be built on two new-generation platforms designed specifically for flexibility and scalability. These architectures, RGEP and RGMP small, are engineered to support multiple energy types, enabling internal combustion engines, strong hybrid systems, and fully electric powertrains depending on market demand and regulatory evolution.
This multi-energy approach is central to Renault’s broader positioning in India. Rather than a one-size-fits-all transition, the Group is aligning its portfolio with the country’s diverse mobility needs, ensuring affordability, efficiency, and technological advancement can coexist within a single product ecosystem. The Renault Duster, unveiled in early 2026, has already set the tone for this new phase, generating strong customer interest and reaffirming the brand’s relevance in one of the world’s most competitive automotive markets. Alongside it, the Bridger Concept offers a preview of a new B-segment SUV that embodies the next generation of electrified, digitally integrated Renault vehicles.
Beyond products, futuREady India is equally a story of industrial and technological reinvention. Renault Group’s operations in Chennai, home to one of its largest engineering centres globally, will play a central role in this transformation. With 6,000 engineers and IT specialists working across vehicle architecture, software development, simulation, and lifecycle optimisation, the site is evolving into a global centre of excellence. Its remit is expanding beyond local market support to include the development of platforms and technologies that will serve Renault projects worldwide.
This shift is reinforced by Renault’s strengthened industrial footprint in India, including full ownership of its Chennai manufacturing facility. This control enhances the Group’s ability to deepen localisation, streamline supply chains, and accelerate integration with local suppliers. At the same time, it positions India as a strategic export base, with growing outbound flows of vehicles, components, and engineering services targeted at key international markets, including South America.
Financially, the ambition is equally significant. Renault Group aims to generate up to €2 billion in annual exports by 2030, spanning vehicles, research and development output, and automotive components. This reinforces India’s emerging role not just as a consumption market, but as a core pillar of Renault’s global value creation network.
A further dimension of the strategy lies in customer experience. Through the Renault Forever initiative, the brand is seeking to build longer-term relationships with Indian customers by prioritising trust, service quality, and simplicity. A key feature of this approach is an extended seven-year warranty, designed to strengthen ownership confidence and reinforce the brand’s commitment to durability and aftersales support in a highly competitive market.
As François Provost, CEO of Renault Group, highlighted during the announcement, India is not only a growth opportunity but a cornerstone of the Group’s next global chapter. His vision places India at the centre of a renewed international strategy that builds on Renault’s decades-long global expansion while adapting to the technological and economic realities of the next decade.
In parallel, Stéphane Deblaise, CEO of Renault Group in India, underscored the importance of a clear product roadmap and advanced engineering capability, noting that India’s role will extend far beyond manufacturing into full vehicle architecture and innovation leadership.
With futuREady India, Renault Group is effectively redrawing its global map. India is no longer simply a destination for expansion, but a strategic engine of design, development, production, and export. As the automotive industry accelerates toward electrification, software-defined vehicles, and globally distributed engineering networks, Renault’s investment signals a long-term conviction that India will be one of the defining hubs of that transformation.
