Gqeberha, South Africa — The ISUZU Foundation, a collaborative initiative between Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) and its Dealer Network, has once again demonstrated its deep-rooted commitment to uplifting local communities. The foundation recently donated close to R300 000—an amount matching the funds raised through the entry fees of triathletes competing at the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 Durban event. This latest contribution brings the Foundation closer to its ambitious R5 million target, set in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of IRONMAN4theKidz.
The donation underscores the ISUZU Foundation’s enduring dedication to supporting education, wellness, and social development initiatives within the communities served by ISUZU Dealers nationwide. Every ISUZU vehicle sold contributes towards these vital community projects, ensuring that the brand’s impact extends well beyond the automotive sector.
Proceeds raised from the 2025 Durban IRONMAN event will be channelled to several respected charitable organisations, including Operation Bobbie Bear, Likhon’ithemba, and the Durban Child and Youth Care Centre. These organisations are making a profound difference in the lives of vulnerable children and youth throughout the Durban region.
“Through this partnership, we have not only raised essential funds but also fostered enduring relationships with organisations doing crucial work on the ground,” said Alastair Hodgson, Department Executive for Business Enablement at Isuzu Motors South Africa. “Our role is to help create a safer, more hopeful future for the children of this region.”

The Durban handover builds on the momentum created by previous ISUZU Foundation-supported IRONMAN events, including the 2023 ISUZU IRONMAN African Championships and the 2024 IRONMAN 5150 Nelson Mandela Bay held in Gqeberha, where nearly R350 000 was raised for child-focused charities.
Since partnering with IRONMAN4theKidz in June 2022, the ISUZU Foundation has contributed over R1.6 million towards registered non-profit organisations supporting vulnerable communities at IRONMAN events across South Africa.
“As the ISUZU Foundation, we are proud to continue championing causes that strengthen communities and protect the most vulnerable amongst us,” said Marvan van Zyl, Chairperson of the ISUZU Foundation. “This year’s efforts reaffirm our long-term commitment to driving meaningful change and creating lasting impact in the communities where we operate.”
Through partnerships like these, ISUZU is not only building vehicles that perform on the road but also building hope and opportunity where it is needed most.
