In a robust alliance, the ISUZU Foundation and IRONMAN 4 the Kidz are enhancing their collaborative support for 13 Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) in the Nelson Mandela Bay area of the Eastern Cape. This partnership, supported by R158,000 raised through prestigious events such as the ISUZU IRONMAN African Championship, ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 Nelson Mandela Bay, and the ISUZU Corporate Triathlon Challenge, is committed to improving the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The funds are designated for vital needs such as refurbishments of charity homes, transport costs, nutritional programs, sports activities, medical expenses, and potential capital projects. These contributions are essential for the supported NPOs to maintain their crucial services and provide opportunities for children grappling with various adversities.
The supported organisations include:
- Eastern Province Youth Care Centre: Dedicated to comprehensive childcare and development programs.
- Khayalethu Youth Centre: Focuses on care and rehabilitation for street children.
- Children’s Haven MTR Smit: Aims to foster optimal child development.
- Heatherbank: Provides structured education programs for children.
- Salem Baby Centre: Supports basic needs and economic empowerment for mothers.
- Oosterland Foundation: Empowers children with positive life experiences and skills.
- Daleview Foster Home: Offers comprehensive care and guidance for orphans.
- Siyakatala Child and Youth Centre: Cares for neglected, abused, and orphaned children.
- Eluxolweni Shelter: Supports and nurtures boys without homes.
- Barcelona Feeding Scheme: Provides balanced meals for children in informal settlements.
- Kids of Tomorrow: Focuses on nutrition, education, and support for early childhood development.
- Mahlasedi Foundation: Delivers balanced meals to primary school learners.
- Early Birds Day Care: Provides early childhood development and education.
