PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, 19 August 2025 – Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa is raising the stakes in the premium people-mover segment with the introduction of two new short-wheelbase derivatives in the Tourneo Custom range: the bold and dynamic Tourneo Custom Sport and the luxuriously appointed Tourneo Custom Titanium X.

Launched last year, the latest-generation Tourneo Custom redefined what a modern multipurpose vehicle can be, blending cutting-edge technology with refined comfort and flexibility. Now, with the arrival of these two high-series variants, Ford adds layers of sophistication and desirability to an already proven formula of space, practicality, and capability.

A New Benchmark in the People-Mover Segment

The Tourneo Custom has long been a trusted choice for families, business owners, and professional shuttle services worldwide. With the addition of the Sport and Titanium X, Ford is targeting customers who demand more than just functionality. These new models are designed for image-conscious buyers seeking vehicles that double as versatile tools and symbols of success.

“High-series Tourneo Custom buyers are image-conscious professionals who require a vehicle that is both a practical tool and a reflection of their success,” explains Sunil Sewmohan, Executive Director of Product Marketing at Ford South Africa. “The Sport is a more dynamic, performance-oriented model with athletic flair, while the Titanium X is our premium halo product, blending sophistication and luxury.”

Both derivatives retain the hallmark eight-seat layout, now packaged in short-wheelbase form for greater agility, while the Active and Trend models remain available in long-wheelbase guise to prioritise luggage space.

Elevated Design and Everyday Practicality

The current Tourneo Custom’s advanced architecture underpins the new models, delivering significant improvements in ride quality, efficiency, and usability. Independent rear suspension ensures a smooth and composed drive, while Ford’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel provides a healthy 125kW and 390Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Five selectable drive modes – Normal, Eco, Slippery, Tow/Haul, and Sport – tailor the driving experience to different conditions. Safety and convenience are bolstered by a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Mitigation.

Ingress and loading are simplified thanks to a lower floor height, integrated sidestep, and a class-leading sliding side door aperture. Inside, Ford’s track-mounted second- and third-row seating system gives unparalleled flexibility, allowing owners to slide, remove, or reconfigure the lightweight seats with ease. ISOFIX points are offered on five seats, underscoring family-friendly credentials.

Despite its spaciousness, the Tourneo Custom maintains a sub-two-metre height, ensuring easy access to garages and multi-storey parking areas while optimising aerodynamic efficiency.

Tourneo Custom Sport – Dynamic Character, Athletic Style

Inspired by the Transit Custom Sport, the new Tourneo Custom Sport injects a dose of dynamism into the range. Its exterior is defined by a honeycomb-style grille, full body-colour bumper treatment, assertive rear spoiler, and bold twin sport stripes that flow from nose to tail. Side decals and LED taillamps add further visual drama, complemented by 17-inch alloy wheels as standard, with optional 19-inch upgrades available.

Inside, the Sport is unmistakably more vibrant. Partial leather seats with blue contrast stripes echo the exterior accents, while piano black finishes around the infotainment system and console elevate the cabin’s modern aesthetic. Occupants benefit from Ford’s latest 13-inch SYNC®4 touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration and a premium 10-speaker audio system.

Driver assistance technologies are extensive, ranging from Reverse Brake Assist and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) to heated mirrors and a leather-trimmed steering wheel, ensuring a balance of confidence and comfort on every journey.

Tourneo Custom Titanium X – The Pinnacle of Premium Travel

If the Sport represents athleticism, the Titanium X embodies refinement. Designed as the flagship of the Tourneo Custom line-up, it offers a premium package suited to executive shuttles, lifestyle-oriented families, and those who demand the highest level of sophistication.

Its exterior exudes class with a bespoke grille, Matrix LED headlamps, and elegant multi-spoke 19-inch alloys. Inside, the Titanium X adds an array of high-end features, including a powered passenger seat and a 360-degree camera system that makes navigating tight spaces effortless.

The Titanium X also offers the optional Mobile Office Pack, transforming the cabin into a functional workspace with enhanced lighting, additional USB ports, secure stowage for laptops and tablets, and even an integrated rubbish bin – practical details that enhance the on-the-go professional lifestyle.

Connectivity and Ownership Experience

Every Tourneo Custom Sport and Titanium X comes with FordPass connectivity, enabling remote vehicle access and status monitoring via smartphone. From pre-conditioning the cabin to checking fuel and tyre pressures, the app seamlessly integrates digital convenience into everyday ownership.

Backing up the product is the Ford Family Promise, which delivers comprehensive aftersales support through Ford’s extensive dealer network across South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, and Eswatini. Customers enjoy value-added benefits such as online service booking, 60-minute Express Service, mobile servicing, and vehicle pick-up and delivery options.

Pricing and Peace of Mind

The new high-series derivatives are available at the following recommended retail prices (incl. VAT):

  • Tourneo Custom 2.0L SWB Sport 8AT – R1 218 000
  • Tourneo Custom 2.0L SWB Titanium X 8AT – R1 264 000

Each model includes a six-year/90 000km Optional Service Plan, four-year/120 000km warranty, four-year/unlimited distance Roadside Assistance, and five-year/unlimited corrosion warranty, with options to extend coverage for even greater peace of mind.

Raising the Standard

With the arrival of the Tourneo Custom Sport and Titanium X, Ford has redefined what buyers can expect in the premium people-mover category. Whether it’s the athletic confidence of the Sport or the refined elegance of the Titanium X, these new models elevate practicality with image, status, and sophistication – cementing the Tourneo Custom as the benchmark for versatile, stylish, and connected mobility in South Africa.
