Ford and Ford Pro have teamed up with Ohme, Ireland’s leading home EV charging company, to make switching to electric vehicles simpler and more affordable than ever. As part of the Ford Power Promise, qualifying customers will now receive a complementary Ohme home charger and installation through Ford dealers across the Republic of Ireland.
A recent Ford survey of 5,000 drivers across Europe revealed that a quarter of potential EV buyers feel uncertainty and complexity when switching to electric vehicles, and one in eight find arranging home charging too challenging. The Ford Power Promise directly addresses these concerns, offering drivers peace of mind while saving time and money.
Ohme, which already partners with Ford in the UK via Octopus Energy, brings a full-service solution to Ireland. This includes charger installation, dealer training, and ongoing support. Based in Cork, Ohme is Europe’s fastest-growing EV charging company and the largest home EV charger provider in the UK and Ireland.
John Manning, Market Lead at Ford of Ireland, explained: “Switching into an electric vehicle for the first time can be a daunting prospect. Ford has simplified and de-stressed the entire ownership experience with this one-of-a-kind promise. Our partnership with Ohme strengthens the Power Promise, helping new buyers embrace the exciting world of electric vehicles while reducing overall running costs.”
Ford’s EV sales in Ireland have surged by 500% year-on-year, and the new partnership further enhances the proposition for both passenger and commercial vehicles in 2026. Using the Energia EV Smart Drive off-peak rate (2am–6am), drivers can add almost 30kW of battery power for just €2.79, meaning a full charge of a new Puma Gen-E costs only €5—compared to €58–70 for petrol.
In addition to the free home charger and standard installation, the Ford Power Promise includes:
- An eight-year, 160,000 km high-voltage component and battery warranty
- A five-year, free-of-charge service plan
- Five-year complimentary towing assistance
- Access to over 750 charging locations and 2,127 public charging points via Ford’s BlueOval™ Charge Network
- Streamlined public charging payments through the FordPass app
- Dedicated customer care and support
David Watson, CEO of Ohme, added: “With Ford’s strong ties to Ireland, particularly Cork, this collaboration is close to home. With the Puma Gen-E, Capri, Mustang Mach-E, Explorer, and electrified commercial vehicles, Ford has one of the strongest EV line-ups on the market, now paired with the best home charging technology.”
Ohme’s dynamic chargers optimise charging costs using live grid data, compatible with the most affordable energy tariffs across Ireland, and include a solar boost function to reduce grid reliance. Ohme also collaborates with key energy providers, including Energia Group, SSE Airtricity, Power NI, and Click NI.
The offer applies to Ford’s full electric passenger vehicle line-up in Ireland—including the All-Electric Explorer, Capri, Puma Gen-E, Mustang Mach-E, E-Tourneo Custom, E-Transit, Transit Custom PHEV, Transit Connect PHEV, and Ranger PHEV—providing a seamless switch to electric mobility for both retail and fleet customers.
Offer Validity:
- Passenger Vehicles: retail and selected fleet orders until 30 April 2026
- Commercial Vehicles: until 31 March 2026
Ford’s Power Promise with Ohme delivers a compelling combination of cost savings, convenience, and reassurance, ensuring Irish drivers can transition to electric vehicles with confidence.
