PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, 25 November 2025 – Ford South Africa is set to elevate the Everest experience with a refreshed line-up of its acclaimed sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the first half of 2026. From new engine options to the introduction of a new Active series, the seven-seater Everest promises to become an even more compelling choice for adventurous families seeking space, versatility, and capability.
“The current Ford Everest, launched in 2022, has earned a strong reputation for unmatched comfort, safety, connectivity, performance, and all-terrain capability,” says Sunil Sewmohan, Director: Product Marketing, Ford South Africa. “The updates we’re introducing next year enhance every one of these strengths, making the Everest an even more attractive option for South African families.”
Active Series: Adventure Within Reach
Replacing the XLT, the new Everest Active serves as the entry point into the range, bringing all the core virtues of the Everest to a wider spectrum of buyers. Powered by Ford’s upgraded 2.0-litre single-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine, the Active combines efficiency with durability thanks to its timing chain. Delivering 125kW of power and 405Nm of torque, the engine is available in both two-wheel drive and part-time four-wheel drive variants, paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.
Sport Models: Energised Performance
The Everest Sport is also receiving a significant powertrain boost. The 4×2 version now features Ford’s lively 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, producing 222kW and 452Nm. Meanwhile, the 4×4 Sport switches to a torque-rich 3.0L V6 turbodiesel engine, delivering 184kW and 600Nm, paired with permanent four-wheel drive – a specification previously reserved for higher-end models.

Wildtrak and Platinum: Off-Road Prowess and Premium Refinement
The Wildtrak continues to cater to adventure enthusiasts with off-road-focused capabilities, while the Platinum remains the benchmark for luxury and refinement in the Everest line-up. Both models retain the 3.0L V6 Diesel engine and permanent 4×4, ensuring that comfort and capability go hand-in-hand.
Tailored Upgrades Across the Range
Beyond new engine options and the Active series, the 2026 Everest range benefits from a suite of specification upgrades designed to enhance its family-oriented versatility. Whether navigating urban environments or exploring remote terrain, the Everest remains a dependable companion for active lifestyles, offering a combination of space, technology, and rugged reliability.
