The quiet revolution of electric mobility often plays out in city streets and suburban delivery routes, but occasionally it finds itself in the high-octane world of motorsport logistics. That is precisely where the Farizon SV has carved out its latest story, clocking over 5,000 miles in service of Team BRIT, the world’s only competitive racing team made up entirely of disabled drivers.
Delivered in September through a partnership with Brian Currie Van Centre, Farizon’s commercial vehicle retail partner in Milton Keynes, the SV quickly transitioned from showroom newcomer to indispensable workhorse. Tasked with supporting a race team that competes across multiple UK championships, the van has spent its time crisscrossing the country, hauling everything from tyres and spare parts to simulators and catering equipment.
Team BRIT operates in demanding environments, competing in series such as the Britcar Endurance Championship, the GT Cup Championship and the Snetterton Saloons Series. These commitments require frequent long-distance travel, often with a fully loaded vehicle. The SV, in its largest L3H3 configuration, has proven more than capable of meeting those demands. Its generous 13 cubic metre load space has consistently absorbed the logistical weight of race weekends, while its electric powertrain delivers a WLTP combined range of up to 247 miles on a single charge.
Range, of course, is only part of the equation. Efficiency between stops matters just as much, and here the SV demonstrates another strength. When charging is required, the battery can be replenished from 20% to 80% in as little as 40 minutes, allowing the team to minimise downtime and stay focused on race preparation rather than route planning.
Inside, the van offers a level of refinement that blurs the line between commercial vehicle and passenger car. Seating for three ensures key team members can travel together, while features such as a multifunction heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity elevate the experience beyond traditional expectations of a working van. Vehicle-to-Load functionality adds further versatility, enabling the team to power equipment directly from the vehicle when needed.
For those behind the wheel, the shift from diesel to electric has been transformative. The SV’s near-silent operation and smooth acceleration create a driving experience that feels more akin to a large passenger car than a commercial transporter. Its ease of manoeuvrability and intuitive controls make it well suited to the varied demands of race-day logistics, from tight paddock spaces to long motorway stretches.
Beyond its technical capabilities, the partnership carries a deeper resonance. Team BRIT’s mission extends beyond competition, championing inclusivity and demonstrating that disability is no barrier to performing at the highest level of motorsport. That ethos aligns closely with the values of its partners, who see the collaboration as an opportunity to support not just a team, but a movement.
Farizon positions the SV as a versatile solution for a wide range of industries, from small businesses to large-scale operations. Its deployment with Team BRIT serves as a compelling real-world validation of that claim. In an environment where reliability, efficiency and adaptability are non-negotiable, the electric van has proven it can shoulder the load, both literally and figuratively.
What emerges from these 5,000 miles is more than a mileage milestone. It is a portrait of how electric commercial vehicles are stepping confidently into roles once dominated by diesel, bringing with them not only environmental benefits but also tangible gains in comfort, usability and performance. For Team BRIT, the Farizon SV has become more than just a support vehicle. It is a quiet, capable partner in a very loud and demanding world.
