The electric city car is having a bit of a glow-up, and the CUPRA Raval arrives like it knows it. Sharp, self-assured and carrying just enough attitude to turn a quiet commute into something closer to a statement, the all-new model now has its UK pricing confirmed, starting from £23,785.
Unveiled across Europe earlier this month and introduced to UK audiences with a high-energy event in Manchester alongside Chase & Status, the Raval signals a deliberate shift in how accessible electric performance can feel. CUPRA isn’t pitching this as a sensible appliance on wheels. Instead, it’s aiming squarely at drivers who want their daily drive to spark something a little more emotional.
Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ platform, the Raval enters the market with a layered approach to performance and range. The entry-level Origin model is powered by a 37kWh battery producing 115PS, offering an approachable gateway into the brand’s electric line-up. Moving up, the V1 and V2 trims introduce flexibility, pairing either a 37kWh battery with 135PS or a larger 52kWh unit delivering 210PS. In its more potent form, the Raval can travel up to around 280 miles on a single charge, with rapid charging capabilities taking it from 10% to 80% in just 23 minutes.
At the top of the range, the VZ variant leans fully into CUPRA’s performance DNA. Equipped exclusively with the 52kWh battery, it produces 225PS and offers a range of approximately 250 miles. More importantly, it brings added dynamic hardware into play, including an electronic limited slip differential and Dynamic Chassis Control, giving the compact EV a distinctly athletic edge that’s rare in this segment.
Design remains central to the Raval’s appeal. It’s not just about clean lines or aerodynamic efficiency, but about presence. The stance is assertive, the detailing deliberate, and the overall effect is a car that feels more like a concept brought to life than a compromise shaped by cost constraints.
The pricing structure reflects that balance between accessibility and ambition. The range opens at £23,785 for the Origin model, stepping through the V1 and V2 derivatives before reaching £34,995 for the VZ. The VZ Extreme tops the line-up at £36,310, positioning itself as the most fully realised expression of the Raval’s performance intent.
Marcus Gossen, Managing Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, describes the pricing announcement as a pivotal moment for the brand, noting that the Raval’s combination of affordability and performance is designed to bring electric driving to a wider audience without diluting its appeal.
With its UK arrival set for summer, the CUPRA Raval lands at an interesting crossroads. Electric vehicles are no longer novelties, but the challenge now lies in making them desirable on a deeper level. If first impressions hold, the Raval doesn’t just join the conversation, it leans forward and interrupts it.
