YOKOHAMA, Japan – October 23, 2025 – The Nissan Formula E Team is ready to hit the track for the first time in the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with a five-day Pre-Season Testing programme at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, running from 27–31 October.
The team’s reigning Drivers’ World Champion, Oliver Rowland, will run with car number #1, while teammate Norman Nato switches to the iconic Nissan #23. This new pairing marks a continuation of the squad’s strong driver line-up, following a highly successful Season 11 where Nissan secured seven podiums, four wins, and three pole positions.
With 17 races scheduled for the upcoming season—a Formula E record—Valencia’s testing week is a crucial step in preparing the team to launch their title defence in São Paulo on 6 December.
The team will also continue racing in its signature cherry blossom livery, a design that has become a fan favourite since its debut in Season 9. The pattern not only reflects Nissan’s Japanese heritage but has also evolved into a key part of the team’s identity on the Formula E grid.
Friday’s testing will spotlight reserve and simulator driver Abbi Pulling, who will participate in the second-ever all-women’s test. Pulling, who topped the session in 2024, will spend the day driving the Nissan e-4ORCE 05 across two three-hour sessions, further developing her skills gained at the Berlin Rookie Test and in the team’s simulator.
Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, highlighted the significance of the Valencia tests:
“We’re looking forward to Pre-Season Testing as we aim to build on our Season 11 achievements. With Oliver and Norman’s continued experience and Abbi gaining valuable track time, we’re setting ourselves up to fight consistently at the top. Valencia will allow us to finalise our off-season preparations before heading to São Paulo.”
For Rowland, returning to the cockpit with the #1 carries both excitement and responsibility:
“I can’t wait to get back on-track in Valencia. The off-season gave me some much-needed rest, and I’m eager to continue improving our car ahead of the opener in Brazil. Having the number 1 is special, and as a team, we’re focused on defending our title, taking it race by race, and improving on our results from last season.”

Norman Nato is equally enthusiastic about the season ahead:
“I’m ready for Pre-Season Testing! We did great work in Season 11, and now the goal is to remain consistently strong while continuing to develop as a unit. The calendar is exciting—Miami will be amazing, and I’ve heard great things about Sanya. We’re preparing to hit the ground running in Round 1.”
Abbi Pulling added:
“I’m excited to get back on-track and build on what I learned at the Berlin Rookie Test. The goal is to continue helping the team prepare for the season while improving my experience both on-track and in the simulator.”
As Nissan Formula E Team embarks on the final year of the GEN3 Evo era, Valencia promises to be a vital proving ground, setting the stage for a campaign that aims to combine the experience of a world champion with the energy of emerging talent—while staying true to the team’s iconic Japanese identity.
If you want, I can also create a more punchy, fan-focused version for social or motorsport media that emphasizes the drivers, the cherry blossom livery, and the record-breaking 17-race season. This would have a bit more flair and excitement. Do you want me to do that too?
