Johannesburg, May 8, 2024 – Volkswagen has enhanced its Polo Sedan lineup with the introduction of the powerful and efficient 85kW 1.0 TSI engine. This latest addition is available in the Life and Style models, promising a blend of performance and luxury.
The Polo Sedan Life model is fully equipped, featuring keyless entry and start, a rear view camera, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and wireless mobile charging. Additional amenities include App-Connect, power-adjustable folding mirrors, climatronic air conditioning, ambient lighting, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with shift paddles. Safety and style are boosted with front fog lamps, cornering lights, a chrome package, and 16-inch Scimitar alloy wheels. Hill Start Assist further enhances its robust feature set.
The Style derivative, sitting atop the model range, adds an 8-inch digital cockpit and a rain sensor. Comfort is amplified by a tilt and slide sunroof, leatherette seats in black, and a two-piece folding rear seat bench. The Style also includes enhanced safety features like side and curtain airbags, and comes equipped with 17-inch Tritz Alloy wheels.
The new 1.0 TSI engine boasts 178Nm of torque and achieves a top speed of 190km/h. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11.5 seconds, and maintains a modest fuel consumption of 6.3 liters per 100 km.
Available in five colors—Candy White, Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, and Rising Blue—the Polo Sedan offers a variety of choices to suit any taste.
The pricing is competitive, with the Polo Sedan Life 1.0 TSI 85kW 6-Speed Tiptronic priced at R421,100, and the Style variant at R454,900. Each vehicle comes with a 3-year/120,000km warranty, a 3-year/45,000km EasyDrive Service Plan, and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty. Service intervals are set at 15,000 km, with optional plan extensions up to 10 years/300,000 km available for purchase.
