Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has unveiled the first official images of the new Caddy, giving a fresh look to a model that has been a favourite for tradespeople, families, and hobby-lovers alike. Now in its fifth generation, the Caddy has become a staple in the compact panel van and leisure vehicle segment, with nearly 2.9 million units built at the Poznań plant since 2003. The model continues to top sales charts, with over 110,000 deliveries in 2025 alone, proving its enduring appeal.
The latest update brings a host of visual enhancements that immediately catch the eye. A redesigned front apron and bumper, new exterior colours, and alloy wheels ranging from 16 to 18 inches give the Caddy a modern, refreshed look while maintaining its practical charm. The changes are not just skin-deep: Volkswagen promises significant updates to the interior, including a larger, free-standing central display, with full details to be revealed at the start of pre-sales later this year.
Versatility remains at the heart of the Caddy’s appeal. With multiple variants available, including cargo and passenger models, normal or long wheelbases, and configurations such as the Edition, California, Life, Style, and Flexible versions, there is a Caddy to suit almost any requirement. The innovative Caddy Flexible, for example, can transform from a five-seater passenger car into a two-seater van with partition wall in just a few steps, ideal for business or leisure needs.
Powertrain options are equally flexible. Petrol, diesel, and the eHybrid version offer a range of over 620 km, with up to 122 km achievable on electric power alone. This makes the Caddy as practical for city deliveries as it is for family outings or outdoor adventures, whether carrying bicycles, surfboards, pets, or camping equipment in the California model with an optional mini kitchen.
Capacity and functionality remain strong points. The Caddy Cargo Maxi offers over 3,100 litres of load space, while passenger versions seat five to seven occupants comfortably. High-roof variants cater to people with disabilities and offer extensive conversion options, and towing capacity reaches up to 1,500 kg. Every detail reflects Volkswagen’s commitment to reliability, resale value, and low maintenance costs, reinforced by an optional five-year manufacturer warranty.
In short, the new Caddy continues to be a vehicle for people with big plans. Its combination of modularity, practicality, and comfort makes it as much a part of the family as a trusted work companion, capable of handling both daily business tasks and leisure adventures with ease.
