Kariega, 6 February 2026 – Volkswagen is set to redefine the compact SUV segment with the launch of the all-new T-Roc in South Africa later this year. The second-generation T-Roc combines progressive design, cutting-edge technology, and family-friendly practicality, reinforcing its position as one of Volkswagen’s most successful models since its debut in 2020.

A Bold, Progressive Design Statement

The new T-Roc makes a powerful visual statement with its redesigned front and rear. Elongated proportions, now 122 mm longer than its predecessor, give the SUV a more dynamic presence and a “half-a-class-larger” appearance. The signature “hockey stick” silver stripe runs from the A-pillar to the D-pillar, while the muscular shoulder line above the rear wheel arches emphasizes its sporty stance.

Lighting plays a central role in the T-Roc’s transformation. Front LED headlights, including the optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix with high-performance additional main beams, are linked by a slim LED strip and an illuminated VW logo. At the rear, a full-length LED strip and central illuminated VW emblem complete the striking new look.

Technology from the Next Class Up

Building on the modular transverse matrix (MQB evo) architecture, already seen in the latest Tiguan and Tayron, the T-Roc brings “top-down” technology to the compact SUV segment. Drivers benefit from features previously reserved for larger Volkswagen models, including the windscreen head-up display and driving experience control with integrated TFT LCD display. The Digital Cockpit Pro in a large rectangular format provides intuitive, user-focused interaction, while high-quality materials and a newly developed fabric structure on the dashboard bridge the gap to the next class up.

Sustainability is also a highlight: around 20% of the T-Roc’s plastics are made from recycled materials, equivalent to up to 40 kg, marking a first for Volkswagen at this scale.

Space and Comfort Perfected

The T-Roc’s extra millimetres translate directly into a more spacious interior. Its wheelbase has grown by 28 mm to 2,631 mm, while alloy wheels are now available up to 20 inches, enhancing both ride comfort and visual appeal. The five-seater interior is designed for maximum flexibility, and luggage capacity has increased by 30 litres to 475 litres.

In the R-Line, an electrically adjustable 14-way ergoActive seat with massage function adds a level of comfort typically found in mid-range or luxury segments. Combined with its ergonomic design and family-oriented layout, the T-Roc delivers a truly versatile all-round driving experience.

Positioned for Success

Part of Volkswagen’s T-SUV family, which includes the Taigo, T-Cross, Tiguan, Tayron, and Touareg, the T-Roc sits perfectly between the more compact Taigo and the larger Tiguan. Its combination of style, technology, comfort, and sustainability makes it a compelling choice for buyers seeking a compact SUV that offers more than its class suggests.

With its launch in South Africa scheduled for the second half of 2026, the all-new T-Roc is poised to strengthen Volkswagen’s leadership in the compact SUV segment while offering customers a taste of big-class innovation in a family-friendly package.
