A convoy of purpose-built SUVs will soon trace one of the UK’s most emotionally charged endurance routes as CHERY UK joins Olly Murs on his 400km “Into The Unknown” challenge in support of UNICEF and Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2026.
Beginning at Old Trafford on 11 May and culminating at London Stadium on 15 May, the challenge sees multi-platinum singer and broadcaster Olly Murs push his physical limits across running, rowing and cycling disciplines. The route itself becomes a shifting landscape of endurance and uncertainty, designed to reflect the unpredictable nature of the journey children face in vulnerable communities worldwide.
Supporting him every kilometre of the way is a dedicated vehicle convoy led by CHERY UK. At its core are CHERY TIGGO 9 CSH models acting as primary support vehicles, accompanied by TIGGO 8 and TIGGO 7 units that provide additional logistical and operational coverage along the route. These vehicles form a moving backbone for a challenge that blends sport, storytelling and humanitarian purpose.
The initiative strengthens CHERY UK’s role as Principal Partner of Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2026, where the brand will also serve as Official Car Partner and Official Broadcast Partner across the matchday coverage on ITV1 and STV. It also aligns with parent company Chery International’s long-standing global partnership with UNICEF, which has committed 12 million USD since 2023 to support education programmes worldwide.
Speaking on the collaboration, Farrell Hsu, Country Director at CHERY UK, highlighted the shared sense of mission behind the partnership. He said the challenge reflects a spirit of determination and unity, adding that supporting Olly Murs on such a demanding journey allows CHERY’s vehicles to play a practical and meaningful role in a cause that resonates far beyond the road itself.
CHERY UK Brand Director John Zhong echoed this sentiment, describing the initiative as an extension of the brand’s focus on family, shared experiences and everyday support. Across five intense days, the TIGGO range will not only transport but actively enable the progression of a journey designed to inspire both participants and supporters alike.
Olly Murs’ return to Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2026 also carries symbolic weight, marking his continued involvement since first taking part in 2010. As anticipation builds toward the 20th anniversary match at London Stadium on 31 May, “Into The Unknown” stands as a living prelude to one of the world’s largest charity football events, uniting sport, entertainment and global philanthropy in motion.
