(Crewe, 14 November 2025) — A hundred years after Bentley first affixed the words Super Sports to a machine capable of breaking the 100 mph barrier, the nameplate returns—sharper, lighter, louder, and more focused than any Continental GT before it. The new Bentley Supersports is not just another flagship; it is a fundamental reimagination of what a modern Bentley GT can be when freed from convention, weight, and compromise.
Strictly limited to 500 individually numbered cars, the new Supersports marks only the fourth time the legendary title has appeared in Bentley’s history. And fittingly, it arrives as the most driver-centric Bentley ever built.
A Continental GT Like No Other
For the first time, the Continental GT becomes rear-wheel drive, and its mass drops below two tonnes—an extraordinary achievement for a car renowned for luxury and long-distance comfort. This radical transformation is made possible by a new generation of Bentley’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, now strengthened and retuned to deliver:
- 666 PS (657 bhp)
- 800 Nm of torque
- 0–100 km/h in 3.7 seconds
- A top speed of around 310 km/h
Purity of character was central to the brief. This is a non-hybrid, fully mechanical statement of intent—channels of combustion, turbo pressure and titanium resonance delivering the most unapologetically authentic soundtrack ever fitted to a Bentley. The Akrapovič full-length titanium exhaust, developed uniquely for Supersports, gives the V8 a deeper, angrier, and more expressive voice.
The engine pairs with an uprated eight-speed dual-clutch transmission featuring sharper upshifts and meticulously calibrated downshift behaviour for impeccable stability under braking.
Dynamics Reimagined for Maximum Engagement
By sending power exclusively to the rear axle—via a new eLSD and supported by torque vectoring—the Supersports offers a level of agility, rotation, and throttle adjustability unprecedented in a Bentley road car. Rear-wheel steering ensures stability at speed and razor-sharp manoeuvrability in tight corners.
Complemented by bespoke suspension calibrations, twin-chamber dampers, and the Bentley Dynamic Ride system capable of applying 1300 Nm of anti-roll torque, the chassis is engineered for the highest possible driver engagement rather than top-speed bragging rights.
With optional Pirelli Trofeo RS tyres, peak lateral grip climbs to 1.3g, while cornering speeds exceed those of the Continental GT Speed by roughly 30%.
Braking is handled by the largest automotive brake system in the world, with 440 mm carbon-silicon-carbide front discs clamped by ten-piston calipers.
Half a Tonne Lighter. And Generating 300 kg More Downforce.
In the pursuit of weight reduction—Bentley’s most extreme to date—the Supersports cuts nearly 500 kg relative to a standard Continental GT. The change to ICE-only propulsion, deletion of the rear cabin, lighter seating, reduced sound insulation, and a carbon fibre roof all contribute to the achievement.
The aerodynamic package is equally transformative:
- The largest front splitter ever fitted to a Bentley
- Stacked carbon fibre dive planes
- Full-length side sills
- B-shaped fender blades for pressure extraction
- A fixed rear wing and deep rear diffuser
- Carbon fibre roof, mirrors, and engine cover
Together, these elements generate more than 300 kg of additional downforce compared with a Continental GT Speed—ensuring stability, balance, and high-speed precision.
This is the most purposeful, motorsport-inspired exterior ever seen on a Continental GT.
A Two-Seat Cabin Built for Focus
Inside, the Supersports is stripped back in all the right ways. The rear seats are gone—replaced with a beautifully sculpted carbon fibre and leather tub. Brand new sports seats sit lower in the cabin and feature deep lateral bolstering, carbon shoulder elements, and 11-way adjustment with heating retained.
Material choices emphasise precision and athleticism: leather, Dinamica, and gloss carbon fibre dominate, with tri-tone configurations available for the first time. A unique numbered plaque on the centre console identifies each of the 500 cars.
Project Mildred: Engineering Through Secrecy and Spirit
The Supersports’ origin story is as compelling as its specification. In 2024, a small engineering group proposed a radical idea: a rear-wheel-drive Continental GT weighing less than two tonnes. A mule was greenlit, built in six weeks, and tested immediately—its performance so convincing that the project was officially approved.
To preserve secrecy, the team adopted a codename inspired by Mildred Mary Petre, the pioneering Bentley endurance racer who broke records on land, sea, and air. Her fearless 24-hour solo run at Montlhéry in 1929 captured the spirit of rebellion and possibility that now defines the new Supersports.
A Legacy of Performance
The Supersports lineage spans a century:
- 1925 3 Litre Super Sports – the first Bentley to exceed 100 mph; only 18 built
- 2009 Continental Supersports – 204 mph, first two-seat Continental
- 2017 Continental Supersports – 710 PS, fastest Bentley of its time
- 2025 Supersports – the most focused and lightweight Bentley ever
Unlike its predecessors that chased peak power and top speed, the new Supersports redefines the formula: its mission is pure engagement through weight reduction, rear-wheel drive, and intense aerodynamic development.
Bespoke Personalisation: 500 Opportunities for Expression
Each of the 500 cars can be tailored extensively:
- 24 core exterior colours, with Mulliner offering matte finishes, custom striping and Supersports graphics
- Five curated Design Themes
- High-gloss or fully painted carbon fibre
- 22 Main Hide colours, 11 Secondary Hides, nine Accent Hides
- Choice of carbon fibre, Diamond Brushed Aluminium, Engine Turned Aluminium, or Piano Black veneers
The launch specification, “Nightfall”, pairs Anthracite with Camel accents and Bronze interior touches; New York’s reveal car, “Daybreak”, features Jetstream Matte over Arctica and Portofino highlights.
