A remarkable piece of Royal motoring history is set to go under the hammer this December, as H&H Classics offers a 2013 Bentley Mulsanne once used by HRH King Charles III when he was Prince of Wales. With Royal provenance and an impeccable pedigree, the car is expected to fetch a princely sum of between £80,000 and £100,000.
Allocated to the Royal Household in December 2013, this Dark Sapphire Bentley, featuring a luxurious Magnolia leather interior, has carried the then-Prince on numerous official engagements. Its specification is nothing short of exquisite: four-wheel air suspension, burr walnut interior trim, digital radio and television reception, and a power-closing boot lid – all testament to Bentley’s dedication to combining craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.
Paul Cheetham, senior motor car specialist at H&H Classics, commented: “We’re thrilled to offer this very special Bentley Mulsanne for auction. It’s hard to imagine a better car for a future king.” He added: “For many years, Bentley has been the Royal Family’s marque of choice, and luxury cars do not come much finer than the Mulsanne. Given its Royal provenance, this particular Bentley has to be one of the most desirable examples available to own anywhere in the world.”
Originally produced by Bentley Motor Cars’ Press and Special Vehicles Department, the Mulsanne was later allocated to the Royal Family. Despite its impressive history, the car has only covered approximately 35,000 miles and remains in excellent condition, having been in its present ownership since 2023.
Photographs documenting the Mulsanne in use by the Prince of Wales add to its allure, showcasing it as a rare intersection of luxury, craftsmanship, and Royal history.
The Bentley Mulsanne will go under the hammer at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire on Wednesday, 3rd December, offering collectors and enthusiasts the opportunity to own a car with genuine Royal heritage.
