(Crewe, 19 January 2026) – Bentley Motors has announced the appointment of Max Harris-Jones as its new Sustainability and Community Communications Manager, a pivotal role in advancing the company’s Beyond100+ strategy to become the world’s most sustainable luxury automotive brand. Reporting directly to Wayne Bruce, Chief Communications and DEIB Officer, Max will collaborate closely with the Bentley Board of Management, leadership teams, and regional networks to craft and deliver communications that champion both environmental stewardship and community engagement.
A Decade of Bentley Experience
Max brings 11 years of experience at Bentley, beginning his career as a Graduate Engineer. Over the years, he has held a variety of roles, most recently serving as Technical Assistant to Andreas Lehe, Manufacturing Member of the Board, where he spearheaded cross-functional initiatives to transform Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe.
Previously, Max was Technical Manager in Mulliner and Motorsport, overseeing logistics operations for the Classics Continuation Series and Motorsport parts and change management. In this capacity, he helped preserve Bentley’s historic craftsmanship and legacy while driving operational excellence.
Driving Sustainability and Inclusion
Beyond his technical expertise, Max has been an active advocate for sustainability and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). As a founding member of Bentley’s BeProud Network, he participates in events such as Manchester Pride and Attitude 101, championing visibility and representation. His contributions were recognised in 2025 when he was named among Attitude 101’s cohort of trailblazing individuals, highlighting his dedication to driving positive societal change.
Leadership Perspective
Commenting on the appointment, Wayne Bruce said:
“Over a year into our Beyond100+ strategy, sustainability and our connection to the communities we work within remains vital. With the addition of Max to the team, we strengthen the ability to drive meaningful transformation, advance our sustainability leadership on the journey to becoming exclusively electric, and deepen engagement within our communities.”
Max Harris-Jones added:
“I am delighted to be joining Bentley’s Communications team. Over the past ten years at Bentley – across Manufacturing, Motorsport and Mulliner – I’ve had the privilege to be part of some incredible teams and projects. The progress we’re making on decarbonisation, maturing DEIB, and deepening our community impact is driven by the passion of our colleagues and the commitment of our business partners. I’m excited to build on that momentum alongside the Communications team.”
Max succeeds Stefanie Lackner, who returned to Audi AG last year to take on the role of Spokesperson Transformation.
Looking Ahead
Max’s appointment reinforces Bentley’s commitment to embedding sustainability, inclusion, and community engagement into every facet of the business. As the company accelerates its Beyond100+ ambitions, his expertise in both engineering and strategic communications positions Bentley to lead the luxury automotive sector into a sustainable and socially responsible future.
