Volkswagen has introduced its inaugural all-electric estate car, the ID.7 Tourer, which is now available for order in the UK with sales commencing on April 18. Initially, the model available is the ID.7 Tourer Pro Match, with a retail price of £52,240. Later this summer, Volkswagen plans to release the ID.7 Tourer Pro S and a high-performance GTX variant.
The ID.7 Tourer, which builds on the design of the ID.7 fastback, marks one of the first electric estates in the upper mid-sized segment in the UK market. The vehicle is noted for its aerodynamic design, boasting a low drag coefficient of 0.24, enhancing its energy efficiency. The ID.7 Tourer Pro Match is equipped with a 77 kWh battery, offering an impressive range of 374 miles and supports fast charging up to 175 kW. The upcoming Pro S variant will feature a larger 86 kWh battery, extending the range to approximately 425 miles, with charging capabilities of up to 200 kW.
The exterior of the ID.7 Tourer is equipped with LED headlights and tail lights, roof rails, and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. A unique feature includes the illuminated Volkswagen logo positioned at the front and rear of the vehicle.

The interior of the ID.7 Tourer is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate five passengers and offers up to 605 liters of luggage space, which expands to 1,714 liters with the rear seats folded down. The car maintains the high comfort levels of its fastback counterpart, featuring premium materials, intelligent automatic air conditioning, and optional ergoActive heated front seats with massage functions.
In addition to comfort, the ID.7 Tourer is loaded with advanced technology, including a keyless entry system, 30-color ambient lighting, a multi-function heated steering wheel, and a state-of-the-art infotainment system with a 15-inch high-definition screen. It also includes an augmented reality head-up display and a rear-view camera.
The optional panoramic sunroof uses a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal layer, allowing it to switch between opaque and transparent states electronically.
Volkswagen’s latest voice assistant, IDA, integrates natural language processing to control various vehicle functions and provides access to online databases and future AI technologies, including ChatGPT.
Rod McLeod, Director of Volkswagen UK, expressed enthusiasm about the ID.7 Tourer’s market debut, highlighting the vehicle’s comfort, space, and impressive range, which have already garnered positive early reviews. He looks forward to seeing the model thrive on UK roads.
