Volkswagen celebrates dual triumph with Design Hero award for Andreas Mindt
Milton Keynes – Volkswagen has clinched two prestigious honors at the 2024 Autocar Awards, underscoring its leadership in automotive excellence. The ID.7 emerged triumphant as Best Saloon, lauded for its seamless integration of electric power and timeless sophistication. Judges commended its understated elegance, describing it as a vehicle that quietly excels in every aspect, embodying the hallmark traits of Volkswagen cars.
“Andreas Mindt’s return to Volkswagen has been nothing short of transformative,” remarked Autocar Editor Mark Tisshaw, as he presented the Design Hero award to Mindt. Recognizing Mindt’s 31-year legacy of design innovation, which includes iconic models like the Volkswagen Golf Mk VII and the Audi e-tron GT, the accolade celebrates his pivotal role in shaping the future of automotive design. Mindt’s recent work, such as the acclaimed ID.2all concept, reflects his ability to blend modern aesthetics with nostalgic charm, capturing the essence of Volkswagen’s ethos.
