Milton Keynes, 27 January 2025 – SEAT S.A. is embarking on a transformative year, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility and electrification. As a cornerstone of the Future: Fast Forward project—a historic industrial initiative in partnership with the Volkswagen Group and others—SEAT S.A. is poised to turn Spain into a European hub for electric vehicles.
Underpinning this mission are three strategic pillars: fostering a cultural shift within its workforce, preparing the Martorell facility for the Volkswagen Group’s Electric Urban Car family, and expanding CUPRA’s innovative electrified product range.
Electrification Ambassadors
Central to SEAT S.A.’s strategy is the adoption of electrified vehicles within its workforce. By empowering its 450-strong management team to exclusively drive electrified vehicles, the company aims to reduce annual CO2 emissions by over 8,600 tons—equivalent to the energy consumption of 1,100 households.
Beyond management, SEAT S.A. is exploring pathways to make electrified vehicles accessible to all employees, creating a network of “electrification ambassadors” who will champion sustainable mobility both within and beyond the company.
To support this shift, SEAT S.A. is doubling its charging infrastructure across its facilities. By the end of Q1 2025, more than 250 chargers will be operational at its Martorell and El Prat sites, bolstered by the addition of 128 new charging points. Plans are also in place to triple the charging capacity in parking lots around the Martorell factory, reaching 140 points by year-end.
Crucially, all the energy powering SEAT S.A.’s charging network is derived from renewable sources. Since 2012, SEAT S.A. has relied on certified green electricity across its operations, and from 2025, this will be complemented by self-generated energy from the company’s solar power plant.
“At SEAT S.A., we lead by example,” said Wayne Griffiths, CEO of SEAT and CUPRA. “Our workforce is driving this transformation, but we need concrete measures from administrations to accelerate this change across Spain.”

Martorell: The Heart of Electrification
SEAT S.A.’s Martorell plant stands at the forefront of the company’s electrification ambitions. Having reallocated production of the SEAT Ibiza and SEAT Arona to Line 3 in 2024, the company is on track to transform Line 1 into a dedicated hub for manufacturing the Volkswagen Group’s Electric Urban Car family.
In 2025, Line 1 will commence pre-series manufacturing of models like the CUPRA Raval and Volkswagen ID.2, ahead of full-scale production in 2026. Recent advancements include the installation of a high-performance press, the integration of the Volkswagen Group’s first fully electric paint-drying oven, and progress on a cutting-edge battery assembly plant.
CUPRA: Leading the Charge
CUPRA, SEAT S.A.’s bold and dynamic brand, is spearheading the company’s product revolution. Following a record year in 2024, which saw the debut of the CUPRA Tavascan—the brand’s first fully electric SUV coupe—and the CUPRA Terramar, CUPRA is expanding its electrified portfolio.
The CUPRA Born VZ, an enhanced version of the company’s inaugural electric model, and the forthcoming CUPRA Raval, set for production in 2026, underscore the brand’s commitment to performance and innovation. Meanwhile, SEAT continues to strengthen its lineup with hybrid models like the updated SEAT Leon, ensuring accessibility for a broad range of drivers.
A Legacy of Innovation
As SEAT S.A. celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025, the company is poised to solidify its legacy as a leader in electrification. By investing in infrastructure, empowering its workforce, and expanding its product range, SEAT S.A. is setting a new standard for sustainable mobility in Spain and beyond.
With CUPRA expanding globally and SEAT consolidating its market position, the future is electric—and SEAT S.A. is driving the charge.
