The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric has added another milestone to its growing list of accolades, now qualifying for the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant in the UK. Already a multi-Car of the Year winner, the family-focused EV strengthens its position in the market with a more accessible entry price starting from £33,245, with the grant applied to all new orders from today.
This latest recognition places the Scenic alongside the Renault 4 and Renault 5 as the third model in the brand’s line-up to benefit from the maximum level of government support. It also underscores Renault’s broader strategy of making electric mobility more attainable, with the most extensive grant-eligible EV range currently available in the UK market.
At the heart of the Scenic’s appeal is its blend of practicality and efficiency. The model is powered by a compact 220hp electric motor paired with an 87kWh battery pack, enabling a driving range of up to 381 miles on a single charge. Buyers can choose from three trims, techno, techno esprit Alpine and iconic esprit Alpine, with pricing inclusive of the Electric Car Grant set at £33,245, £36,245 and £38,245 respectively.
The grant eligibility is tied to Renault Group’s increasingly transparent and sustainability-led production chain. Battery cells are produced by LG in Poland using 100% renewable energy before being integrated into the vehicle at Renault’s Electri-city manufacturing hub in Douai, France. This vertically aligned approach is designed to reduce lifecycle emissions while meeting strict environmental manufacturing standards.
Renault’s wider EV family also benefits from the scheme. The Renault 4 and Renault 5, both manufactured in France and fitted with a larger 52kWh battery, qualify for the full £3,750 grant, with starting prices of £23,445 and £23,945 respectively. Meanwhile, the Renault Megane and the smaller 40kWh version of the Renault 5 remain eligible for a £1,500 grant, priced from £31,295 and £21,495.
This multi-tier eligibility reflects Renault’s unusually broad participation in the UK incentive programme, positioning the brand as one of the most active contributors to electric vehicle adoption. Since the introduction of the Electric Car Grant, Renault has recorded strong momentum, with EV registrations rising 87% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026 alone.
Adam Wood, Managing Director of Renault UK, highlighted the significance of the milestone, noting that the company’s decarbonisation efforts have long been embedded into its strategy. He said Renault Group was among the first manufacturers to have its targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, and emphasised that the Scenic’s grant eligibility is a direct result of its renewable-powered battery production.
He added that growing consumer confidence, combined with strong product launches and government incentives, has helped drive adoption, with one in three new Renault vehicles sold in the UK now fully electric. According to Wood, this shift demonstrates clear demand for EVs that balance design, technology, driving enjoyment and affordability.
With enhanced affordability, long-range capability and a production model built around renewable energy, the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric is not just extending its competitive edge, but also reinforcing Renault’s broader push toward a lower-carbon automotive future.
