Renault Group has once again proven its prowess on the global automotive stage, securing the coveted title of ‘Best Car Company’ at the 2025/2026 Best Cars of the Year awards, organised by the independent and not-for-profit Best Cars of the Year initiative. This exceptional achievement is complemented by individual accolades for its standout vehicles, with the Renault 4 E-Tech electric crowned both ‘Best Car of the Year’ and ‘Best Electric Car’, while the Dacia Bigster claimed the ‘Best Value Car’ award.
These wins follow last year’s headline triumph for the Renault 5 E-Tech electric, which took home the ‘Best Car of the Year’ title, reinforcing Renault Group’s sustained momentum across its four brands: Renault, Dacia, Alpine, and Mobilize. For Dacia, the Bigster award marks a second consecutive year of recognition in the value segment, following the Dacia Spring’s win last year.
François Provost, CEO of Renault Group, said:
“It is a great honour to receive these awards, which give us all the motivation to keep pushing to set new standards now and in the future. Being named Best Car Company is especially meaningful because it recognises the success of all four of our brands, as well as the dedication of our teams, suppliers, retailers, and customers. I’m thrilled that the judges have once again acknowledged that we are making exceptional cars across our portfolio.”
The expert judging panel, including automotive luminaries Mike Rutherford, Dr Andy Palmer, Ray Massey, and Shiro Nakamura, emphasised Renault Group’s rare achievement of securing four major awards in a single year:
“At the annual New Car World Championships it is unprecedented for one multi-brand manufacturer to collect four major awards. But Renault Group has been in top form of late and somehow continues to get its designs, showroom products, quality and retail prices spot-on. Dacia is growing hugely in credibility, and its Bigster is an absolute bargain for families and others seeking a large, flexible, fuel-efficient SUV. The Renault 4 is, all things considered, superior to and more desirable than many of its more expensive EV rivals from across the globe. For this and other reasons, Renault 4 richly deserves to be crowned The New Car World Champ 2025/2026.”

Renault Group continues to set benchmarks in innovation, expressive design, and everyday usability. A pioneer of Europe’s electric mobility, the manufacturer is leveraging its expertise to usher in a bold new era of performance and sustainability. Through a strategic dual approach to electrification, Renault offers customers a choice of bespoke hybrid and pure electric drivetrains across multiple model lines. Alongside the award-winning Renault 5, the Group recently launched the pure electric Renault 4, as well as the Symbioz SUV and Rafale hybrid flagship models.
Dacia has carved a reputation for rugged reliability and exceptional value, thriving in both urban and off-road environments. The Bigster, winner of the ‘Best Value Car’ award, embodies this ethos with its robust design, generous space, and outstanding price-performance balance.
Alpine continues to shine as the Group’s performance jewel, blending motorsport heritage with striking engineering. Its evolving portfolio, from the acclaimed A110 to the A290 and forthcoming A390 SUV coupe, demonstrates how Alpine’s lightweight, agile performance remains relevant in an electrified future.
Meanwhile, Mobilize represents Renault Group’s forward-looking vision for sustainable mobility, delivering electric, shared, and digitally connected solutions in collaboration with cities, businesses, and individuals, and reshaping transport for a rapidly changing world.
The Best Cars of the Year awards are judged by an independent panel of experts—including celebrated designers, engineers, journalists, and motorsport legends—with members of the public also contributing to the vote. This year’s selection reflects a rare alignment of design excellence, engineering prowess, and real-world usability, qualities Renault Group has consistently demonstrated across its brands.
With this unprecedented sweep, Renault Group underscores its leadership in global automotive innovation, combining style, performance, and accessibility to meet the evolving needs of drivers worldwide.
