Renault has once again demonstrated its electric vehicle excellence, sweeping the 2026 Parkers New Car Awards and cementing its status as a leader in the EV market. The French marque claimed four major honours, including the prestigious Car of the Year title for the second consecutive year.

The standout performer of the evening was the Renault 4 E-Tech electric, which not only took home the coveted Car of the Year award but also triumphed in the Best Small Family Car category. Joining the 4 E-Tech on the winners’ podium, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric was named Best First Car, while the celebrated Renault Scenic E-Tech electric retained its crown as Best Medium Family Car, replicating its success from last year.

Keith Adams, Editor of Parkers, praised Renault’s sweeping victory:
“Once again, Renault has absolutely swept the board this year, and it’s richly deserved. The Renault 4 E-Tech being named our ‘Car of the Year’ shows just how far the brand has come – it’s imaginative, beautifully designed and perfectly judged for the times. Add to that the Renault 5 E-Tech, which makes electric driving genuinely exciting for new drivers, and the Scenic E-Tech, which continues to set the standard for family EVs, and you have a brand on a real roll. Renault’s success across so many categories shows a company firing on all cylinders – bringing style, value and innovation to every part of the market.”

Renault reigns supreme again at 2026 parkers new car awards

Adam Wood, Managing Director, Renault Group UK, added:
“We’re incredibly pleased and proud to retain the ‘Car of the Year’ title and once again lead multiple categories at the Parkers New Car Awards. It’s testament to the consistency, accessibility and desirability of our electric range, Parkers recognising our line-up as being perfect for everyone from first-time drivers to families.”

The Renault 4 E-Tech electric is a modern reinvention of the iconic original, blending distinctive character with practicality and advanced technology. With a 2.62m wheelbase, it delivers impressive interior space, complemented by a 420-litre boot that expands to 1,405 litres with the rear seats folded – perfect for family life. Standard features include Renault’s OpenR Link infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, while a 100 kW DC charger allows rapid charging from 15 to 80% in just 30 minutes. Thanks to the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant, the 4 E-Tech electric is available from £25,495 OTR.

Meanwhile, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric brings another icon into the electric era. Praised for its style, technology, and accessibility, the 5 E-Tech features an agile chassis and up to 252 miles WLTP range, making EV driving fun and engaging for first-time drivers. After the Electric Car Grant, it is priced from £21,495 OTR.

Finally, the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric continues to set the benchmark for family-friendly electric motoring. With a spacious interior, advanced technology, and a real-world range of up to 381 miles, the Scenic E-Tech remains the go-to choice for families seeking practicality and performance. Prices start from £35,495 OTR, including the Electric Car Grant.

Renault’s dominance at the 2026 Parkers New Car Awards underscores a simple truth: when it comes to electric vehicles, the French brand continues to deliver style, innovation, and accessible driving for every stage of life.
