Renault has reinforced its leadership in both commercial and passenger electric vehicles, claiming three prestigious accolades at the Company Car & Van Awards 2026. The Renault Master E-Tech electric was named overall ‘Van of the Year 2026’, while the diesel-powered Renault Master retained its crown as ‘Large Van of the Year’ for the second consecutive year. Completing the hat-trick, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric secured the title of ‘Small Car of the Year 2026’.
These wins highlight Renault’s broad and versatile line-up, which delivers class-leading technology, efficiency, and practicality for both fleet and business drivers. Judges praised the Master’s versatility and the appeal of Renault’s electric vehicles across commercial and passenger car segments.
Renault Master E-Tech Electric: A New Standard for Vans
Awarding the overall Van of the Year title to the Master E-Tech electric, Andrew Walker, Editor of Company Car & Van, said:
“Whilst we love the Master diesel, it’s the electric model that really shines. The E-Tech is light and easy to drive, comes very well equipped, and offers plenty of safety features. It’s also comfortable in the cabin and offers an excellent payload. Most importantly, if you drive sensibly, a real-world range of 220 miles is possible – enough to convince operators to go electric. The 2026 Van of the Year is the Renault Master.”
The Master’s diesel variant continues its dominance in the large van sector, retaining the title of Large Van of the Year. Walker added:
“Offered with loadspaces of 11 to 14.8 cubic metres, with plenty of model options and both electric and diesel drivetrains, there’s a Master just for you. Inside, premium-feel materials and generous cabin storage combine with excellent connectivity and up to 20 driver assistance systems, making it class-leading.”
Built around flexibility, the Master range caters to a wide variety of business needs. Available in multiple lengths, heights, and configurations – including panel van, platform cab, and specialist conversions – the Master delivers advanced connectivity, high-spec equipment, and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies to support safety, comfort, and efficiency.
Pricing starts at £33,500 plus VAT for diesel models, with Master E-Tech electric variants from £37,500 plus VAT after PiVG.
Renault 5 E-Tech Electric: Small Car, Big Impact
Renault’s success was completed by the Renault 5 E-Tech electric, crowned Small Car of the Year 2026. Walker explained the appeal:
“The Renault 5 is a small electric car with attitude. Retro-inspired looks are an unmitigated success. Handling and driving are very good. Onboard tech and safety are impressive, and it’s priced competitively. Low BIK. Perhaps our easiest decision – the Renault 5 is our Small Car of the Year.”
The Renault 5 E-Tech combines distinctive design with advanced technology, safety systems, and engaging driving dynamics. Eligible for the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant and priced from £21,495, it offers fleet drivers a stylish, efficient, and practical electric vehicle, cementing Renault’s position at the forefront of the small EV market.
Renault UK: Delivering Real-World Solutions for Fleets
Justin Costello, Head of Fleet at Renault UK, reflected on the company’s achievement:
“These awards reflect how clearly our car and van ranges are aligned to the needs of fleet operators. From the Master continuing to set the benchmark in the large van sector to Renault 5 redefining what a small electric car can offer, the focus has been on delivering products that work in the real world – on cost, usability, technology, and efficiency.”
With three major wins at the 2026 Company Car & Van Awards, Renault has demonstrated its commitment to providing vehicles that deliver performance, innovation, and practicality for businesses and fleet operators across the UK.
