Renault Group closed 2025 with its most compelling fleet performance in the UK for more than ten years, underlining a period of sustained momentum across passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and premium segments. Driven by a combination of fresh product, balanced powertrain strategy, and renewed focus on customer relationships, the Group has significantly strengthened its position in the true fleet market and laid firm foundations for further growth in 2026.
At the heart of this success sits the Renault brand itself, which finished 2025 as the third fastest-growing manufacturer in the UK true fleet sector. Fleet volumes rose by 68 percent year-on-year and more than doubled over a two-year period, pushing Renault’s market share from 1.6 percent to 2.5 percent. Notably, this makes Renault the fastest-growing established manufacturer in true fleet, surpassed only by new market entrants.
A Portfolio That Wins on Breadth and Balance
Renault Group’s progress has been powered by the breadth of its multi-brand portfolio. Renault, Dacia and Alpine collectively secured more than 100 UK industry awards during 2025, reinforcing the strength and relevance of the Group’s offering across value-driven, mainstream and premium fleet segments.
While Renault’s electric models have become increasingly prominent, the brand’s approach has remained deliberately pragmatic. Electric vehicles accounted for 46 percent of Renault’s total fleet mix in 2025, reflecting strong adoption without forcing transition. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric and Scenic E-Tech electric both ramped up rapidly, becoming genuine fleet staples in a short space of time.
Crucially, these models sit alongside sustained demand for hybrid and internal combustion offerings. The Clio, Symbioz and Trafic Passenger models continued to resonate strongly with fleet buyers, with each achieving more than 2,000 fleet registrations during the year. Together, these five models illustrate Renault’s ability to cover multiple segments while accommodating the varied operational needs of UK fleets.
Dacia and Alpine Extend the Group’s Reach
The Group’s success was not confined to the Renault badge alone. Dacia more than doubled its true fleet sales in 2025, with Sandero, Spring and Duster emerging as compelling choices for fleet decision-makers focused on durability, cost efficiency and value retention. In an increasingly cost-conscious environment, Dacia’s straightforward proposition proved highly effective.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Alpine recorded the fastest growth of any premium brand in the UK. This performance highlights a growing appetite among fleets for distinctive, performance-led alternatives, particularly as electrification opens new possibilities within the premium company car market.
Light Commercial Vehicles Remain a Cornerstone
Renault’s position in the light commercial vehicle sector remains a critical pillar of its fleet strategy. In 2025, Renault finished third in the UK true fleet LCV market, excluding rental and pick-ups. Established models such as Master, Kangoo and Trafic continue to command strong loyalty among operators, built on years of dependable service.
That credibility will be further enhanced with the arrival of the new Renault Trafic E-Tech electric, with order books set to open later this year. As fleet operators increasingly explore electrification within urban and last-mile operations, Renault’s LCV range is well positioned to meet evolving regulatory and operational demands.
Investment in Relationships and Fleet Expertise
Beyond product, Renault Group’s resurgence in fleet has been driven by significant investment in its UK fleet operation. An expanded specialist team now works closely with customers, partners and retailers, supporting fleets across cars and vans with a simplified, joined-up approach.
This focus on relationships and service was recognised across the industry in 2025, with Renault Group securing accolades including Manufacturer of the Year and Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer. A single point of contact and unified agreements across Renault, Dacia and Alpine have helped remove friction from the buying process, encouraging customers to engage with the full breadth of the Group’s portfolio.
Justin Costello, Head of Fleet at Renault UK, highlighted the shift in perception among fleet buyers: “What we’re seeing is a change in how fleets are perceiving Renault Group. We benefit from one of the freshest model line-ups in the industry, with designs that are characterful, offer great driving dynamics, technology and value. Our team are working hard to make it easy for customers to experience and buy Renault Group products, with one contact and one agreement to cover our entire portfolio of award-winning brands and models.”
Looking Ahead to 2026
Momentum shows no sign of slowing. A wave of new electric product launches is set to further strengthen Renault Group’s fleet proposition in 2026. The Renault Twingo, Renault Trafic E-Tech electric and Alpine A390 will expand the Group’s reach into new segments and use cases.
The Alpine A390 sports fastback, an all-electric SUV, will complement the A290 and bring a fresh dynamic to the premium company car landscape. Together, these models reflect the Group’s commitment to innovation without abandoning choice, ensuring fleets can select electric, hybrid or combustion options according to their specific requirements.
With strong growth across passenger cars and vans, established nameplates and new electric arrivals, Renault Group enters the next phase of its UK fleet journey with confidence. Its combination of product depth, powertrain flexibility and customer-centric service positions the Group as an increasingly compelling partner for fleets navigating a complex and rapidly evolving market.
