Three McLaren supercars, eight states, and 3,867 miles of open road—this was the stage for McLaren Automotive’s spectacular ‘States of Endurance’ road trip, a celebration of 30 years since the brand’s iconic 1995 Le Mans victory. From the sun-drenched coastline of Monterey to the vibrant streets of Miami, McLaren brought its racing DNA to life in a journey that fused motorsport heritage with the thrill of road-going supercars.
Piloted by McLaren pro and Trophy drivers Paul Rees, Jack Barlow, and Oliver Webb, the expedition featured the multiple award-winning 750S Coupe & Spider and the Artura Spider. Along the route, the cars made fan-focused ‘Pit Stops’ in collaboration with McLaren retailers in cities including Newport Beach, Scottsdale, Dallas, Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami. At each stop, supercar enthusiasts and motorsports fans experienced the legacy and future of McLaren up close, with owner convoys joining sections of the journey.
The States of Endurance cars—adorned in liveries reflecting the Dawn, Day, and Night phases of a 24-hour race—embody the endurance mindset at the core of McLaren’s philosophy. Lightweight, precision-engineered, and uncompromising in quality, these supercars deliver both exhilarating track performance and an unforgettable driving experience on the open road. The route, meticulously plotted, not only brought McLaren directly to its community but also exceeded the distance typically covered during a 24-hour Le Mans race.
TUMI joined as the official partner, providing luggage from the TUMI | McLaren Spring 2025 collection, including the Velocity Backpack in Super Grey. The collaboration marries automotive inspiration with design excellence, allowing drivers to personalise their pieces during the journey.

The epic road trip began in Monterey, California, coinciding with the North American debut of Project: Endurance at Monterey Car Week. Along the journey, visitors were treated to a display of the 750S Le Mans edition, commemorating three decades since McLaren’s triumph, alongside the Project: Endurance car, which previews the customer-focused programme tied to McLaren’s planned return to top-class endurance racing in 2027.
The essence of endurance racing—its tests of resilience, precision, and spirit—was brought to life through encounters with a remarkable range of individuals, from ranchers and astronauts to world-record-holding athletes. Justin Bell, who drove the McLaren F1 GTR in the 1995 Le Mans, shared first-hand insights into what endurance truly means.
“Endurance racing represents McLaren’s tenacity, and the States of Endurance journey is a perfect intersection of our endurance heritage with the cutting-edge engineering, technologies and uncompromising standards that make our supercars capable of experiences that still resonate with the driver long after the journey ends,” said Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Automotive. “We have brought our community of passionate fans and clients together to experience the thrill and resilience that defines McLaren, while our States of Endurance drivers have discovered for themselves how endurance can transcend beyond the track, to be a mindset to live by.”
At the heart of McLaren’s road-car line-up is racing DNA. The McLaren 750S, the lightest and most powerful series production supercar in McLaren’s history, sets the benchmark in dynamic capability and engineering excellence. Meanwhile, the hybrid Artura embodies McLaren’s philosophy of super-lightweight engineering, combining cutting-edge performance with striking design and innovation. Together, they demonstrate how McLaren’s commitment to racing excellence translates seamlessly to the road, offering experiences that thrill, inspire, and endure.
For those wishing to relive the journey, a film recounting the States of Endurance road trip captures the spirit, speed, and stories behind this extraordinary 3,867-mile celebration.
