Gaydon, UK – 10 September 2025 – McLaren Automotive has unveiled the 750S JC96, a limited-edition supercar created exclusively for the Japanese market. Marking the first time McLaren has developed a car solely for Japan, just 61 examples will be produced, honouring the race number of the McLaren F1 GTR that clinched the 1996 All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) Drivers’ title with John Neilsen and David Brabham behind the wheel.
Inspired by a Champion
The JC96 pays tribute to one of McLaren’s most celebrated motorsport chapters: the Team Goh F1 GTR campaign. With its distinctive “Tiger Stripe” livery of Rocket Pink and Tarmac Grey, the car became a motorsport icon and a symbol of McLaren’s prowess on Japanese circuits. The JC96 brings that legacy to life with paintwork informed by the original livery, applied to elements such as the front splitter, rear wing endplates, and door mirror casings in shades of Memphis Red, Titanium Silver, Ice White, or Graphite Grey.
For those seeking the ultimate tribute, MSO (McLaren Special Operations) will hand-paint just four cars in a full JC96 Tribute Livery, a painstaking recreation of the Tiger Stripe design that once dominated the JGTC grid.
Aerodynamic Precision with MSO High Downforce Kit
The 750S JC96 debuts the MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK) on the Spider variant for the first time. Inspired by the original F1 LM’s pioneering aerodynamics – later refined on the 1996 F1 GTR – the HDK integrates a dual-element front splitter, raised active rear spoiler with endplates, and louvred under-wing panel. Together, these features generate up to 10% more downforce, sharpening the car’s already benchmark handling for track use.
Race-Bred Wheels and Performance
Also debuting on the JC96 is a new Delta 15-Spoke Ultra-Lightweight Forged Alloy Wheel, influenced by the later-spec F1 GTR “Longtail” designs. Finished in Silver and paired with F1 Gold brake calipers accented with red McLaren logos, the wheels reinforce the car’s motorsport connection while reducing unsprung mass. A Natural Titanium-finished central-exit exhaust further nods to GTR engineering.
Beneath its aerodynamically honed form, the 750S JC96 retains the acclaimed M840T 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, delivering 750PS through McLaren’s carbon fibre Monocage II structure. Combined with Proactive Chassis Control III, the JC96 is the lightest and most agile supercar in its class, available as either a coupé or Spider.

Interior: Golden Details of Heritage
Inside, the JC96 fuses McLaren’s modern craftsmanship with F1 GTR-inspired touches. Customers may choose from three Alcantara® Performance interiors – Carbon Black, Carbon Black with Bright Red stitching, or Dove Grey with Carbon Black accents – each featuring bespoke details.
Every car is equipped with:
- Gold-finished pedals and drive select switches, referencing McLaren’s motorsport icons
- A gold-finished JC96 dedication plaque, proudly marking the exclusivity of the model
- Embroidered headrest and armrest branding, reinforcing the JC96’s bespoke identity
For further individuality, MSO offers personalisation packs ranging from carbon fibre exterior upgrades to bespoke interior livery patterns, painted centre caps, and even a hand-painted vehicle key.
A Love Letter to Japan
Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer of McLaren Automotive, said:
“The 750S JC96 is our love letter to McLaren in Japan. Our Japanese clients demand track-inspired performance without compromising on personalisation. The JC96 blends these qualities perfectly, offering the enhanced aerodynamics of the MSO HDK alongside the exhilaration of an open-top Spider for those who choose it.”
A Collector’s Masterpiece
The 750S JC96 embodies McLaren’s philosophy of driver engagement, lightness, and race-bred authenticity, while celebrating a uniquely Japanese chapter of its motorsport history. With only 61 examples destined for customers and just four full JC96 Tribute Livery cars available, it is as much a collector’s masterpiece as it is a supercar built for the track.
From its gold-detailed cockpit to its aerodynamic enhancements, the McLaren 750S JC96 is more than a special edition – it is a symbol of McLaren’s enduring bond with Japan and its motorsport culture.
