Johannesburg, 20 February 2026 – Lexus South Africa marks its sixth consecutive year as a proud vehicle sponsor of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair (ICTAF), reinforcing its commitment to innovation, design, and the celebration of South Africa’s creative landscape. Over the past six years, Lexus’ sponsorship has helped elevate ICTAF’s impact, connecting the brand with audiences who appreciate craftsmanship, forward-thinking luxury, and contemporary culture.
“This milestone reflects our belief in the power of collaboration and support for platforms that inspire the country’s diverse and dynamic talent,” says Tasneem Lorgat, General Manager: Marketing Communications at Lexus South Africa. “Lexus is more than a luxury automotive brand – we are curators of thoughtful experiences. This sponsorship allows us to connect with South Africans in ways that go beyond mobility, through creativity, culture and shared purpose.”
The Art of Movement
As ICTAF’s official automotive partner, Lexus South Africa presents a striking collaboration with acclaimed South African artist Banele Khoza. Central to this partnership is the all-new electric Lexus RZ, transformed into a mobile canvas featuring Khoza’s celebrated work Most of Us Want Flowers Without the Rain. The piece explores themes of growth, beauty, and the unseen forces required for transformation – a concept that resonates powerfully when paired with the quiet, zero-emission performance of the Lexus RZ. In this fusion, creative energy meets electric energy, turning mobility into art.
“Design has always been central to the Lexus philosophy. Our collaboration with Banele Khoza allows us to extend that philosophy beyond automotive engineering and into the cultural sphere,” Lorgat adds. “The Lexus RZ represents the future of electric mobility, and through this collaboration, we celebrate the creative energy that drives progress, both on the road and in the world of art.”
Khoza describes the partnership as a chance to introduce contemporary African art into an unexpected, dynamic space. “Most of Us Want Flowers Without the Rain reflects on the tension between desire and process, the beauty we seek, and the growth required to achieve it. Translating it onto the Lexus RZ introduces the work to new audiences and contexts. It becomes mobile, visible, and in conversation with innovation,” Khoza explains.
Sustainable Luxury Meets Cultural Engagement
During ICTAF, running 20-22 February 2026, Lexus will showcase its latest vehicle lineup, including hybrid and fully electrified models that demonstrate the brand’s commitment to sustainable luxury. Guests will also experience the refined calm of the Lexus chauffeur offering, an embodiment of the brand’s renowned ‘omotenashi’ hospitality and attention to detail.
Through this partnership, Lexus continues to nurture meaningful experiences that celebrate South African creativity, craftsmanship, and forward-thinking design – proving that luxury, culture, and innovation can move in perfect harmony.
