2026 marks a landmark year for motorsport, celebrating the centenary of Sir Jack Brabham’s birth and the 60th anniversary of his third Formula 1 World Championship. To honour this extraordinary legacy, Goodwood Revival, taking place from 18 to 20 September, will host a spectacular tribute to the driver, engineer, and innovator whose influence reshaped the world of racing.
Jack Brabham’s career spanned from 1955 to 1970, highlighted by his remarkable achievement in 1966: winning a World Championship in a car of his own design—a feat that remains unmatched in the sport’s history. Beyond his driving prowess, Brabham was a pioneering engineer and co-founder of the Brabham team in 1960, leaving an indelible mark on Formula 1 through innovations in car design, team management, and driver development. His outstanding contributions earned him a knighthood in 1979, the first for a Formula 1 driver.
The Revival will showcase up to 50 cars from Brabham’s illustrious career in a track parade across the weekend. This extraordinary collection will feature championship-winning cars alongside Formula 1, touring, and sports cars raced by legends such as Bruce McLaren, Dan Gurney, Denny Hulme, Graham Hill, and Jochen Rindt, all carrying the Brabham name up to 1970.
Jack’s connection to Goodwood runs deep. In the early 1950s, he tested and raced the Cooper-Alta on the Motor Circuit, later winning the Formula 2 race at Goodwood in 1966. He remained a familiar face at the Festival of Speed from 1996 and returned to the circuit after its reopening in 1998, continuing to demonstrate his competitive spirit well into his seventies.
David Brabham, Jack’s son, expressed the family’s excitement for the event: “My father, Sir Jack, achieved so much throughout his career, from winning his third Formula 1 Championship at the age of 40, to co-founding one of the most influential racing car manufacturers of its time. It means a great deal to our family to see his legacy honoured in this way at Goodwood Revival, especially with so many of his cars coming together. It’s been a joy working with The Duke and his team at Goodwood to bring the 60th anniversary celebration to life.”
The Duke of Richmond, founder of Goodwood Revival, added: “Jack Brabham is a true motorsport legend—a triple world champion who uniquely won the championship in a car bearing his own name. He was a superstar at Goodwood both in its first incarnation and again in the modern era. We’re much looking forward to celebrating Jack’s career and enduring legacy at the Revival later this year, with many of the wonderful cars he created coming together for the occasion.”
This year’s Revival promises to be a moving celebration of Jack Brabham’s life, achievements, and the enduring influence of the Brabham name in motorsport. Early bird tickets are available now at goodwood.com.
