A century ago, John Duff embarked on an unforgettable journey from the Brooklands Circuit, driving the legendary Bentley 3 Litre Sport to compete in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. Alongside his teammate Frank Clement, Duff not only finished the grueling race but also clinched victory, marking the first win for Bentley at Le Mans.
Today, this iconic journey will be recreated with the same historic vehicle. In partnership with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), Vintage Bentley is honored to drive the 1924 Bentley 3 Litre Sport from Brooklands to Le Mans, kicking off its centenary celebrations.
The route from Brooklands Circuit to Le Mans will see the vintage Bentley traverse various French towns including Boulogne, Berck, Dieppe, Rouen, Évreux, Mortagne, and Mamers before reaching its destination.

This commemorative journey will culminate in the 1924 Bentley 3 Litre Sport leading a grand procession at the conclusion of Saturday’s scrutineering session. The procession will feature nine Hypercars, one LMP2, and seven LMGT3s, with the Bentley 3 Litre Sport taking the lead through the streets of Le Mans City Centre. Afterward, the historic car will be displayed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Museum from June 9th.
Throughout the Le Mans race weekend, from June 14th to 16th, the Bentley 3 Litre will be prominently featured, with additional events and details to be announced soon.
