Denmark, 10 July 2025 – In a historic and electrifying moment at the opening day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Zenvo Automotive unveiled the first prototype of its much-anticipated Aurora hypercar. The debut of “VP0” marked a watershed for the Danish marque – not just a public reveal, but a dynamic declaration of intent, complete with the inaugural roar of its bespoke ‘Mjølner’ quad-turbocharged V12 powertrain.
Before the eyes of thousands gathered at one of motorsport’s most prestigious events, the harlequin-camouflaged VP0 was unveiled in front of Goodwood House, where the Duke of Richmond and Zenvo Automotive Chairman, Jens Sverdrup, jointly fired up the engine for the first time. Moments later, the prototype took to the Hill for its maiden public run, its soundscape reverberating through the Sussex countryside and marking a dramatic beginning to a new chapter in the hypercar story.
“This was more than simply the first public showing of the car,” explained Sverdrup. “VP0 is not only the first running prototype of the Aurora project, but a symbol of Zenvo’s evolution. Since previewing the concept in 2023, the entire company has been reimagined, reinforced, and reborn through this project.”
A Hypercar Forged from Scratch
Unlike many contemporary hypercars built atop existing architectures or adapted from racing platforms, the Zenvo Aurora is unapologetically original. From concept to creation, every element has been designed from the ground up to deliver uncompromised performance, engineering precision, and aesthetic purity.
This approach is evident in the development of the ‘Mjølner’ V12 powertrain, named after Thor’s mythical hammer, signifying its raw power and Scandinavian roots. In partnership with renowned engineering consultancy MAHLE Powertrain, Zenvo developed the engine in-house, meticulously tuning every component to deliver performance worthy of its ambition.
“As the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the beating heart of the automotive calendar, the powertrain is the beating heart of the Aurora,” said John Hollingworth, Sales and Marketing Director at MAHLE Powertrain. “We are immensely proud to have helped develop a powertrain that does justice to the car’s revolutionary ethos. The Mjølner V12 is more than a technical achievement – it’s an emotional centrepiece.”

The Art of Structure: ZM1 Monocoque
Beneath the bodywork lies the all-new ZM1 modular carbon monocoque chassis, a collaborative achievement with composite engineering firm Managing Composites. Every gram and contour of the structure has been engineered to meet the extreme demands of high-performance driving, aerodynamics, and safety, without compromising weight or rigidity.
“This has been a dream project that pushed us to redefine the limits of composite engineering,” noted Lluc Marti, CEO at Managing Composites. “From the carbon monocoque to the exterior panels, every element was designed from scratch to enable the extreme packaging and aerodynamic freedoms required for a hypercar of this calibre.”
VP0: A Preview of the Aurora Tur
The prototype shown at Goodwood represents the Tur specification of the Aurora, a version with a more classically elegant design that complements its ferocious underpinnings. Draped in development camouflage yet unmistakably sculptural, VP0 offers a clear glimpse into what customers can expect when deliveries begin.
Led by Zenvo’s Chief Engineer, Javier Castrane, VP0 will continue demonstration runs throughout the Goodwood weekend, giving spectators multiple chances to witness its performance and poise in action. It will also remain on display in the Supercar Paddock, where visitors can take a closer look at what may be one of the most significant hypercars of the modern era.
A Statement of Intent
Aurora is not just another superlative-laden performance car—it is a manifesto of engineering independence, innovation, and ambition. From its thunderous, bespoke V12 to its Formula 1-grade carbon architecture, Zenvo’s latest creation is a clear statement: the future of hypercars is not defined by convention, but by vision.
As VP0 climbed the hill for the first time, it wasn’t just about setting times or breaking records—it was about marking a milestone. A new name. A new sound. A new standard.
And for Zenvo Automotive, this is just the beginning.
