04 October 2024 – Cape Town, South Africa – WesBank is set to reaffirm its dedication to the South African automotive industry through its continued sponsorship of SA Auto Week for the third consecutive year. This year’s event, scheduled from 15 to 18 October at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), marks a significant milestone: the centenary celebration of South Africa’s automotive industry.

Celebrating a Century of Automotive Excellence
The 2024 SA Auto Week is themed “Reimagining the Future, Together: Celebrating Automotive Heritage, Passion, Resilience, and Ingenuity.” This theme not only commemorates the rich history of automotive development in South Africa but also emphasizes the industry’s potential for future innovations. As a highlight of South Africa’s Transport Month, the event aims to underscore the critical importance of establishing a sustainable and inclusive transport future for all citizens.

A Commitment to Innovation and Excellence
In addition to sponsoring SA Auto Week, WesBank will also support the prestigious naamsa Accelerator Awards. Scheduled for the conclusion of the event on 18 October 2024, this exclusive gala will recognize excellence and innovation within the automotive sector. With over 50 years of experience, WesBank continues to strengthen its role as a trusted partner for both customers and industry stakeholders, reinforcing its commitment to the advancement of the automotive sector.

Ghana Msibi, CEO of WesBank, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “The third instalment of SA Auto Week aims to pay tribute to the resilience, passion, and ingenuity that have defined South Africa’s automotive industry over the last century, while also promoting collaboration and innovation for the future. These objectives closely align with WesBank’s mission to provide innovative mobility solutions for shared prosperity.”
