Members of Welsh Motoring Writers made a recent visit to Cardiff Heliport with a £500 donation to Wales Air Ambulance.
The charity, which attends serious incidents on the roads in Wales and airlifts casualties to hospital, has been a regular recipient of donations from the motoring writers’ group, although the recent coronavirus pandemic has made attending one of its bases to make the donation more difficult.
Trustee of Wales Air Ambulance, and Welsh Motoring Writers member, Mark James said: “Welsh Motoring Writers have made several generous donations to the Wales Air Ambulance over the past few years and so I’d like to thank the group on behalf of the charity once again.
“Wales has some great driving roads but road traffic collisions (RTCs) are, sadly, a side effect of the popularity of those roads. Each year, the four Wales Air Ambulance helicopters attend RTCs across Wales and it’s thanks to the support of individual donors and groups such as the Welsh Motoring Writers that we’re able to continue to do that.”
Welsh Motoring Writers chair Simon Harris said: “The rapid response of Wales Air Ambulance crews have saved many lives over the years and we are keen to support its vital role and ensure it can continue to do so for many years to come.”
