Volvo Car UK has broadened its electric vehicle range with the introduction of the EX30 Cargo, a new car-derived van purpose-built for business and fleet customers. Developed from the fully electric EX30 compact SUV, the EX30 Cargo brings together Volvo’s hallmark comfort, technology, and safety with the practicality required by commercial users. Available as both the EX30 Cargo and the EX30 Cross Country Cargo, the latter offering enhanced ground clearance, the vehicle is designed to meet the diverse needs of professional drivers without compromising on quality.
The rear seats have been replaced with a flat cargo floor and an access panel, creating a practical load space with a payload of 390kg and a total capacity of 1,000 litres. A specially designed bulkhead separates the cabin from the cargo area, while modified rear panels and doors increase loading versatility. This second-stage conversion by Volvo Car UK allows the EX30 Cargo to be configured from both newly ordered vehicles and existing stock across Model Year 2026 and Model Year 2027.
To suit different operational needs, the EX30 Cargo offers multiple powertrain options. The upcoming MY27 P3 Extended Range delivers 150hp for those prioritising efficiency, while the P5 provides 272hp and extended range. For customers requiring maximum performance, the P8 All Wheel Drive variant delivers 428hp. The EX30 Cargo comes in two trims: Core and Plus, with the Cross Country Plus offering additional ride height and capability.
The Core specification already includes advanced safety features through Volvo’s Safe Space Technology, alongside Google Automotive Services, Adaptive Cruise Control, front and rear Park Assist with a rear camera, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Automatic LED headlights, an 11 kW 3-phase onboard charger with heat pump, and 18” Aero alloy wheels complement the specification, providing both efficiency and convenience. The Plus trim enhances comfort and design with Pilot Assist, Digital Key Plus, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, two-zone climate control, wireless charging, dual-tone roof styling, and 19” Aero alloy wheels.
Jack Munford, Head of Fleet at Volvo Car UK, emphasised the vehicle’s versatility: “While we are best known for our passenger vehicles, we recognise that business owners and fleets also want the quality, safety and technology that Volvo is renowned for in a compact commercial vehicle too, which is why we created the extremely practical EX30 Cargo.”
With its thoughtful combination of cargo practicality, premium technology, and safety, the EX30 Cargo positions itself as a compelling option for businesses looking to transition to electric vehicles without compromising on usability or comfort. Priced from £36,010 on the road, the EX30 Cargo is available exclusively through Volvo Car UK’s fleet sales channels.
