As spring heralds a wave of new activity across Volvo Cars’ UK model range, the Swedish automaker is further extending its commitment to consumer choice and innovative technology. The latest model updates and additions, which include refreshed styling, new trim levels, and cutting-edge in-car technology, promise to raise the appeal of Volvo’s offerings. With an emphasis on electrified powertrains, including fully electric, plug-in hybrid, and mild-hybrid options, Volvo continues to meet customer needs while embracing sustainability and enhanced driving experiences.

A Refreshed XC60: New Styling and Advanced Features

The Volvo XC60, a cornerstone of the brand’s global success, is undergoing a major update for 2025. As Volvo’s top-selling model, the mid-size SUV is set to offer even greater appeal with a redesigned exterior and a redefined interior.

The updated XC60 introduces a striking new front grille, complemented by fresh alloy wheel designs and dark-finished rear lamp clusters, giving the vehicle a more sophisticated and modern appearance. Inside, the XC60 sees significant enhancements, most notably the introduction of a new 11.2-inch touchscreen that improves the vehicle’s infotainment system, ensuring a faster and more responsive user experience. This update mirrors the improved user experience (UX) seen in the EX30, ES90, XC90, and EX90 models.

Incorporating Volvo’s signature minimalist design, the interior also benefits from a redesigned central console that includes a wireless charging pad and ample storage space. A focus on cabin comfort includes improved sound insulation, creating a quieter, more serene driving environment. Moreover, new upholstery choices—such as bio-attributable Nordico and navy herringbone woven fabric—add a touch of luxury and sustainability.

The updated XC60 will offer three powertrain options: the B5 mild-hybrid petrol, and the T6 and T8 petrol-electric plug-in hybrids. Prices start at £49,240 for the B5 Core version, rising to £69,860 for the T8 Plug-in Hybrid Ultra Black Edition, offering both high-performance and eco-friendly driving solutions.

EX90 Expands: Introducing the Single Motor and Plus Trim

Volvo’s flagship EX90 fully electric SUV continues to grow, with the addition of a new Single Motor rear-wheel-drive version, alongside a new Plus trim level. The EX90 now offers even more versatility and affordability, with an entry-level price of £82,660.

The EX90 Single Motor boasts a 104/100 kWh (nominal/usable) battery, delivering an impressive 279 horsepower and 490Nm of torque. This powertrain accelerates the SUV from 0-62mph in just 8.4 seconds. With an electric range of up to 380 miles on a full charge, this version offers the ideal blend of performance, range, and efficiency for long-distance drivers.

The new Plus trim enhances the EX90’s luxury credentials with standard features such as four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 14.5-inch touchscreen control system, a 360-degree camera setup, and adaptive air suspension on Twin Motor models. These features elevate the EX90’s premium status, ensuring comfort and convenience for all passengers.

EX30 Cross Country: Rugged Appeal with Enhanced Performance

Building on Volvo’s Cross Country legacy, the EX30 Cross Country is designed to tackle rougher terrains while retaining the style and performance that Volvo is known for. With a rugged design that includes matt black front and bootlid shields, bespoke bumpers with integrated skidplates, and dedicated 19-inch alloy wheels, the EX30 Cross Country is engineered for adventure.

This small yet robust SUV is equipped with all-wheel drive, enhanced ground clearance (increased by 19mm), and a suspension system that offers a smoother ride over rough surfaces. Available from £47,060, the EX30 Cross Country provides a compelling option for those who seek a versatile vehicle capable of handling both urban streets and off-road paths.

Increased Range for EC40 and EX40 Models

In line with its commitment to sustainability and driving range, Volvo is enhancing the EC40 and EX40 models with a larger battery, extending the range of the Single Motor Extended Range versions. The EC40 now boasts a range of up to 360 miles, an increase from the previous 346 miles, while the EX40 can now achieve up to 358 miles, up from 343 miles.

This upgrade makes both the EC40 and EX40 even more practical for long journeys, ensuring that drivers can experience the convenience of an all-electric driving experience without compromise.

Volvo Cars Expands Uk Model Range With New Features Trim Levels And Enhanced Technologies

Introducing the Plus Pro Trim Level

To offer more tailored options for customers, Volvo is introducing the new Plus Pro trim level across a wide range of models, including the EC40, EX40, XC40, XC60, and XC90. This new trim sits between the established Plus and Ultra grades, combining advanced technology with aesthetic refinements.

The Plus Pro trim includes key features such as pixel LED headlights with adaptive shadow technology, LED front fog lights with cornering functions, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system on the EC40, EX40, and XC40 models. On the XC60, this package includes 20-inch alloy wheels, Nappa leather ventilated upholstery, and upgraded interior finishes, while the XC90 Plus Pro features even larger 21-inch wheels and premium leather seating.

Volvo’s Smarter, Faster Infotainment System

Continuing its focus on in-car technology, Volvo is rolling out the next generation of its infotainment system across several models, including the EC40, EX40, XC40, V60, and V90. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, the new system offers more than twice the response speed and 10 times faster graphics rendering than its predecessor.

This user experience (UX) is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, with simplification at its core. The most frequently used apps and features are now more easily accessible, and the system integrates seamlessly with Google services, including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and access to the Google Play Store.

Conclusion: A Dynamic Spring for Volvo

With these exciting updates, Volvo continues to demonstrate its commitment to offering a diverse, electrified lineup that meets the evolving needs of its customers. From the redesigned XC60 to the expanding EX90 range, Volvo’s new models and trim levels deliver exceptional performance, advanced technology, and stylish design, ensuring that the Swedish automaker remains at the forefront of the automotive industry.
