Volvo Car South Africa announced the winners of the various categories in its 2010 Dealer of the Year (DOTY) competition at a gala dinner this week. The competition was fierce, with top 3 of each category within single digits from each other – illustrating the level of commitment to excellent service throughout Volvo Car SA’s dealer network.
The awards give recognition to Volvo’s dealer network in Southern Africa for hard work, commitment and dedication to the Volvo brand but also for consistently delivering excellent levels of service
The Overall Dealer of the Year title for 2010 was awarded to Auto Baltic, East Rand for excelling in both sales and aftersales service. Auto Baltic proudly walked away with this coveted trophy, with Johan Coetzee, the dealer principal, saying: “my team worked so hard for this and I am so proud of our achievements over the past year”.
As it turned out, Auto Baltic ended up spending most of the evening on stage as they also scooped up the Sales Dealer of the Year award, making it clear that hard work and a passion for the product goes a long way toward achieving your goals.
Lazarus, Centurion, was named Aftersales Dealer of the Year due to their dedication to client service and ensuring customer satisfaction not only in the Volvo products, but also by maintaining good client relations.
The title of Most Improved Dealer of the Year in 2010 is shared by Leon’s Auto Rustenburg and (again) Auto Baltic. Claiming this award is no mean feat as the past few years have been a tough period for improvement in tough market conditions.
The Managing Director’s Award of Excellence was once again awarded to dealerships or individuals that stand out from the rest. The criteria for this award are entirely at the MD, Bram van der Reep’s discretion, but teamwork, passion and leadership are undoubtedly the deciding factors.
This year the Managing Director’s Special Award for Excellence went to Bruce Allen of Auto View Bedfordview, Chris Pienaar of SwedoCar Hatfield and Darren Gray of SwedoCar Umhlanga.
