Volkswagen UK is basking in the glow of a remarkable achievement, having garnered eight prestigious awards in a mere 32 days. This impressive trophy haul underscores the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation, showcasing the strengths of its leading models, including the ID.7, Golf, and Tiguan.
A Winning Start at the Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year Awards
The accolades began in September with the Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year 2025 awards. Here, the Volkswagen ID.7 Match Pro was recognized as the top choice for towing caravans weighing less than 1,200 kg. Judges praised the ID.7 for its spacious interior, ample boot space, and impressively supple ride, stating that it won its category “easily.”
Simultaneously, the Volkswagen Golf Estate Style triumphed in the category for towing caravans weighing between 1,200 and 1,300 kg. The judges commended its nimble handling and responsive mild-hybrid engine, alongside the car’s remarkably spacious boot. Their comments highlighted the Golf’s longstanding reputation as a well-engineered vehicle with timeless styling and a practical interior, reinforcing its status as a go-to choice for discerning drivers.

Success at the Diesel Top 50 Awards
Volkswagen’s winning streak continued with recognition at the Diesel Top 50 awards from Diesel&EcoCar magazine. The Golf was placed second overall and received the title of Best Diesel Medium Car, while the Tiguan, Volkswagen’s best-selling model globally, was crowned Best Diesel Medium SUV.
Ian Robertson, Editor and Publisher of Diesel&EcoCar, remarked on the Golf’s transformation with its facelift, noting that the Mk8.5 Golf is now a serious contender with its efficient 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine capable of achieving up to 63.5 mpg. Regarding the Tiguan, he pointed out its sleek new design, increased dimensions, and spacious cabin, praising the vehicle’s dynamic handling and the additional 37 litres of boot space that enhance its practicality.
Celebrating the Iconic Golf
The awards continued in October, coinciding with the Golf’s 50th anniversary. It was named The Sunday Times Legend Car of the Year and awarded The Sun Legend Car at the News UK Motor Awards 2024. Furthermore, the Golf GTI clinched the title of Best Hot Hatchback at the Carbuyer Best Car Awards for 2025, impressing judges with its precision and thrilling driving experience, especially the upgraded Clubsport version. Enhancements to the infotainment system and controls were also noted, making the car more intuitive and user-friendly.
Completing the remarkable list of achievements, Parkers awarded the ID.7 the title of UK’s Best Large Family Car, acknowledging its status as an astonishingly capable large fastback and estate vehicle.
A Testament to Excellence
Reflecting on this success, Mike Orford, Head of PR and Communications for Volkswagen UK, expressed his pride: “We never take awards for granted, and so we’re very happy that experts in the media have recognised the excellence of our products with this flurry of silverware. Particularly pleasing are the many accolades presented to the Golf in its 50th birthday year. It makes all our celebrations even more special.”
As Volkswagen UK continues to innovate and enhance its offerings, the recent award successes not only reinforce the brand’s dedication to quality but also mark a significant milestone in the evolution of its most iconic models. With such accolades under their belt, the road ahead looks promising for Volkswagen, promising more excitement and excellence in the automotive landscape.
