As Volkswagen Golf marks its 50th year, the UK gears up for the launch of its latest iteration on April 11, embodying a legacy of success in the automotive realm. This new version brings a blend of tradition and innovation, featuring Volkswagen’s cutting-edge infotainment system integrated with ChatGPT, a refined design highlighted by a lit Volkswagen logo—a first for the Golf—enhanced efficiency, and for the initial time, extended-range plug-in hybrids capable of approximately 100 kilometers on electric power alone.
The unveiling includes the Golf Hatch in Life, Match, and Style trims, alongside the Estate in Life and Style variants, with prices starting at £27,035 and £28,400 respectively. Engine options at launch encompass a range from the 1.5 TSI 115 PS manual to the 1.5 eTSI 150 PS with automatic transmission.

Sport enthusiasts can look forward to the Golf R-Line models from April 25, offering sporty aesthetics and additional features such as 17-inch Coventry alloy wheels and a 12.9-inch infotainment display, with prices commencing from £30,285.
The new Golf also introduces significant advancements in styling, technology, and performance. Notable are the redesigned LED headlights with optional high-performance matrix versions, a refreshed interior with an intuitive 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a ChatGPT-enabled voice assistant. Enhanced driver assistance systems and new plug-in hybrid drives underline Volkswagen’s commitment to efficiency and innovation.
