Johannesburg, 2 October 2025 — Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced its role as the official title partner of King of the Whip 2025, Southern Africa’s premier freestyle motocross event. This year’s edition will take place on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at Johannesburg’s iconic Montecasino precinct.

What began in 2017 as a grassroots gathering in a small sand quarry in Northriding has since grown into one of the most electrifying action sports showcases on the continent. Over the years, King of the Whip has evolved into a world-class production, introducing its crowd-favourite Best Trick contest in 2019 and consistently attracting leading motocross athletes from across South Africa and around the globe.

By 2024, the event had cemented itself as the second largest Best Whip contest globally, establishing Southern Africa as a destination for elite freestyle motocross and thrilling live entertainment. With attendance capped at a sell-out 7,000 spectators, the 2025 event at Montecasino is set to build on this reputation, combining unmatched adrenaline-fuelled performances with elevated staging and spectator engagement.
