Milton Keynes, UK – In celebration of five decades of supermini success, Volkswagen has unveiled the Polo Edition 50 — a special, limited-run model that marks 50 years of the beloved Polo nameplate. Available to order from 19 June, the Edition 50 is poised to become a sought-after collectible for enthusiasts and everyday drivers alike.

With only a limited number available in the UK, the Polo Edition 50 offers a unique blend of exclusive styling, premium features, and heritage-rich detailing — all for an on-the-road price of £26,350.

Exclusive by Design

At a glance, the Polo Edition 50 sets itself apart from the standard line-up. Nestled between the R-Line and Black Edition trims, this commemorative model commands attention with its exclusive Crystal Blue metallic paintwork — a colour not offered on any other Polo currently available in the UK.

Adding further distinction are the bespoke ‘50’ anniversary badges, subtly placed on the steering wheel, B pillars, front door sills, and instrument panel, marking its celebratory status without overwhelming the design. Other standout features include 17-inch Tortosa alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, and Edition 50 sports seats, all set within a cabin finished with gloss-black decorative inserts that elevate the interior ambiance.

Premium Features as Standard

The Polo Edition 50 is generously equipped with features typically reserved for Volkswagen’s higher trims. As standard, owners will enjoy:

  • A tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof
  • Rear-view camera for easy manoeuvring
  • Keyless access and start
  • Two-zone Air Care Climatronic air conditioning

Under the bonnet sits a tried-and-tested 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine delivering 95 PS, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, ensuring smooth and efficient performance ideal for both city streets and open roads.

A Celebrated Legacy

Having topped the UK’s supermini sales chart in 2023 (source: SMMT), the Polo continues to resonate with British drivers across generations. The Edition 50 honours that legacy while offering a forward-facing take on compact motoring, blending heritage with contemporary comforts and technology.

For fans of the Polo and collectors alike, this is more than just a car — it’s a celebration of one of Volkswagen’s most enduring success stories.

Availability

The Volkswagen Polo Edition 50 goes on sale in the UK on Thursday 19 June via official Volkswagen Retailers. With demand expected to be high and production limited, prospective buyers are encouraged to act quickly to secure their piece of automotive history.
