The Virgin London Marathon took place on Sunday 22 April 2012 where 13 runners tackled the 26.2 mile Olympic route course in aid of BEN, the automotive industry charity and between them raised in excess of £5,000.
The 13 runners consisted of Tom Carney, Adam Connelly, David Harris, Chris Hines, Lewis Honeywill, Chris Hunt, Stuart James, Neil Kennett, Martin Lee, Mike May, Matthew Smith, Jonathan Whitehead and Simon Wood. The athletes hailed from a variety of automotive organisations including CAT Magazine, SEAT, Porsche, RMI and MGM Motor Company.
BEN is extremely grateful to all the runners who took part in support of BEN. The money raised will help the charity to continue helping automotive people and their dependents in times of need.
BEN’s Events Manager, Kelly Neal commented, “It is fantastic to know that there are so many people willing to go to such lengths to raise money for BEN. The Virgin London Marathon is no small feat and to have 13 people run it and raise in excess of £5,000 is amazing. Thank you to all the runners.”
