Victoria Prentis, MP for North Oxfordshire, visited two of Bicester Heritage’s specialist community during its celebratory Flywheel event, both of which are providing innovative solutions from the former RAF bomber base.
Prentis’ first stop was Motorsport UK, whose UK Headquarters are at the Bicester Heritage site. She met members of the team, who are in the midst of a charity fundraising campaign with the aim of purchasing an ambulance to be sent to Ukraine.
Motorsport UK launched the fundraising campaign last year in solidarity and support with the Federation Automobile d’Ukraine (FAU), the Ukrainian motorsport community and the Ukrainian people.
The fundraising campaign has so far raised £48,189 with a target of £60,000 required to purchase the vehicle.

During her visit to the Flywheel event, Prentis also cut the ribbon on the launch of the UK’s first publicly sustainable petrol pump: Sustain Classic, which was powering the on-site vintage vehicles during the event weekend.
Developed by fuel specialist Coryton, the fuel with the highest sustainable content promises a reduction of at least 65% in greenhouse gas emissions when compared to fossil fuels. Priced from £3.80 per litre, Sustain Classic will be available from distributor Motor Spirit at Bicester Heritage from 13th June.
Dan Geoghegan, CEO, Bicester Motion comments:
“Oxfordshire is a constituency that continues to place innovation and sustainable solutions at the very forefront, a perfect location for the 50 specialist businesses here at Bicester Heritage. We appreciated the endorsement of Victoria Prentis, MP, at our Flywheel event, not only as we celebrated past marques and classic machines, but also as we continue to support initiatives that are designed for future generations and the welfare of our planet.”
