UP TO 50% FUEL REDUCTION FROM RENAULT PREMIUM LANDERS PROMPTS RENAULT KERAX PURCHASE FOR RTS WASTE
Bermondsey based waste and recycling company, RTS Waste Management, has taken delivery of its first Renault Kerax 460.35 6×4 tractor unit through Renault Trucks distributor, MV Trucks. The purchase follows impressive fuel results from the current Renault Premium Landers on its fleet which, in some cases, has seen fuel consumption down by nearly 50%. The company has added a total of nine new Renault trucks to its 26-strong fleet in the last 12 months, with another two on order, marking a move away from Mercedes.
As well as the Renault Kerax, which will be used to haul waste to landfill and the incineration tip, RTS Waste Management has recently added two 6×2 Renault Premium Lander 380.26 dustcarts and two 8×2 Renault Premium Lander 460.32 roll on/roll off, rear steer hookloaders with drawbar. Each of the new Renaults is equipped with the automated Optidriver+ gearbox and undertakes waste removal and recycling for clients in the construction industry across London and the South East.
Mark Redmond, Director, RTS Waste Management, says: “The Renaults are performing much better on fuel than the other trucks on our fleet. Recent fuel figures have shown that by
replacing Mercedes with the Renault Premium Landers we have almost halved our fuel costs on the dustcarts.”
He continues: “We have also been very impressed with Renault Trucks’ Optidriver gearbox which makes a big difference in reducing driver fatigue – a particular issue when operating in Central London. This has been reflected in reduced insurance claims.”

Mark also cited the professional and prompt service provided by the Renault Trucks dealer, MV Trucks, as a key part of the company’s purchase decision.
Established in 1987, RTS Waste Management is part of the Mobius Recycling Group. A family run business, based in Bermondsey, the company offers a comprehensive waste and recycling service to a number of major clients, including Bovis, Lend Lease, Overbury and Balfour Beatty Construction. A continual reinvestment programme over recent years has enabled RTS to develop a technically advanced Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), for the improvement of waste recovery, at its main operating centre in South London.
