12 November 2025 – UK: Twisted has announced the acquisition of KS Composites, the Melton Mowbray-based specialist in high-end carbon fibre and advanced composites. The deal marks a significant milestone in Twisted’s long-term growth strategy, bolstering its engineering capabilities and reinforcing its position in the premium automotive and marine sectors.
KS Composites, with over 40 years of expertise, is a renowned name in the manufacture of advanced composite components, serving both OEMs and niche clients. The company is best known for its work on classic Land Rover Defender restomods, and its skills will now underpin Twisted’s next-generation vehicles, marine products, and advanced engineering projects.
All 120 KS Composites employees will remain in post, ensuring continuity for existing clients and preserving the company’s renowned quality standards. Jamie Smith continues as Managing Director and joins the Twisted board, strengthening the collaboration between the two organisations.
“As Twisted prepares for global growth, including increased activity in the USA, it requires carbon fibre engineering expertise and production capability that provides a genuine competitive advantage,” said Smith. “KS Composites delivers that capability, and I am delighted to play a part in expanding what Twisted can design, build, and deliver.”
Jake Cronk, Twisted’s Chief Operating Officer, added: “With KS’s expertise in composites and Twisted’s commitment to creating the best possible vehicles and marine products, we’re accelerating every major project we have in motion. This is an important moment for the future of Twisted and an exciting step forward for both teams. We’re strengthening our British engineering expertise while unlocking the next chapter as a global business.”
The acquisition comes at a time of rapid growth for Twisted. Over the past five years, the Yorkshire company has expanded into the premium marine sector, established a Special Projects division, launched the modern T-Bug—a contemporary recreation of the iconic Baja Bug—and grown its international footprint. KS Composites’ integration provides a natural complement to these initiatives, supporting new product development and manufacturing plans while allowing the company to continue operating independently.
Together, Twisted and KS Composites combine decades of British engineering heritage with a shared commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and quality. The partnership ensures both businesses remain at the forefront of automotive and marine engineering, delivering cutting-edge solutions for clients around the world.
