Toyota, a stalwart in the world of sports, continues its enduring commitment by supporting over 200 Olympic and Paralympic athletes globally. The renowned “Start Your Impossible” campaign not only celebrates the extraordinary talents of these athletes but also underscores the vital role of communities, encompassing coaches, teammates, parents, and fans, who rally behind them.
In 2024, Toyota’s campaign aims to ignite a spark of infinite possibilities across the globe. Key commercials driving this initiative include “Send Off,” which highlights the collective effort of communities supporting their athletes; “Together Wins,” emphasizing the power of unity in achieving the impossible; and “All For One,” reminding us that with community support, any obstacle can be overcome.
Global Team Toyota Athletes
On a local scale, Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) proudly collaborates with three exceptional South African athletes, joining the Global Team Toyota Athletes Programme. Paralympians Puseletso Mabote and Louzanne Coetzee, along with Olympic swimmer Pieter Coetzé, embody the spirit of this campaign.
The Global Team Toyota Athletes are a diverse group selected for their alignment with Toyota’s core values: challenge, continuous improvement, sincerity, teamwork, humility, gratitude, accountability, and honesty.
Puseletso Mabote
“I was introduced to track and field at a very young age when I received my first prosthetic blade. That was the moment I discovered my talent and developed a love for the sport,” says Puseletso, a decorated Paralympian (T63 athlete: 100m, 200m, and long jump). Despite facing numerous challenges, he aims for gold in Paris with grace and determination.
“I love that all the responsibility is on me, and I don’t have to rely on any teammate for success. However, I still need a team around me to achieve those goals,” he concludes.

Louzanne Coetzee
With her radiant smile and unwavering spirit, Louzanne (T11 athlete and F11 marathon runner) serves as an inspiration to many. She draws her motivation from friends and family who stand by her side.
“I love running, so it’s not a sacrifice for me to do it every day,” she shares about her intense training schedule. “Traveling and getting the opportunity to see the world is also amazing,” she adds.
Pieter Coetzé
Pieter, who has qualified for the 100m and 200m backstroke, exemplifies what dedication and passion can achieve in sports.
“I am excited about the Olympics, but I focus on what I need to do every day to be prepared for race day,” says Pieter. “I am very blessed to have my loved ones support me as they have throughout the years of training leading up to the Games,” he concludes.
