Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) has announced the arrival of the Toyota Hiace PWD (Persons with Disabilities) model, a purpose-built people-mover designed to put accessibility at the very heart of mobility.
In line with Toyota’s global vision of becoming a mobility solutions provider, the Hiace Ses’fikile has been reimagined with a suffix that carries a deeper purpose – ensuring that transport is no longer a barrier, but a bridge to freedom, opportunity, and shared journeys.

The Hiace PWD is equipped with a fully automated rear ramp, offering wheelchair users seamless access. Inside, the layout has been carefully considered: three rows of original Hiace seating comfortably accommodate nine passengers, while a wheelchair occupant is securely positioned at the rear, as though seated in a fourth row.
Safety and dignity take precedence. The wheelchair bay features front and rear restraints for stability, while a sturdy ramp extension ensures effortless boarding and disembarking. When not in use, the ramp folds away neatly, maintaining the vehicle’s spacious interior.

Based on the trusted 16-seater Hiace platform, the PWD variant retains the model’s hallmark balance of practicality, durability, and comfort. Powered by Toyota’s proven 2.7-litre naturally aspirated engine, it delivers both strength and efficiency.
The Hiace PWD is offered exclusively in Ivory White with a dark grey interior, a clean, purposeful design that underscores its role as a vehicle built with inclusivity in mind.
