Toyota Dakar 2013 Rally Images Day 3
The 3d Day of the Dakar 2013 Rally took place yesterday January 7, 2013 in Peru, South America. The Dakar Rally is the top endurance rally in the world and Toyota South Africa have two teams in the Dakar competing with their Toyota Hilux pick-up’s. The Toyota Hilux is a tough pick-up which have already show its capabilities in the 2012 Dakar when it came third in the Vehicles category at the Dakar 2012.
Giniel de Villiers and Dirk von Zitzewitz are the favorites for the Toyota Dakar 2013 Rally team to win the Dakar 2013 Rally. Rob Howie and Duncan Vos are the other drivers in the Toyota Dakar 2013 Rally team last year they ended in position 10 and there is a good chance this year that they will end in the top 5.
The 3rd day for the Dakar 2013 Rally was tougher than the previous two days and there have already been some casualties in the race. Giniel De Villiers started the 3rd day today in Position 2 in the vehicle category and ended in 6th place on the end of day 3.
According to Giniel de Villiers they had some navigation problems, but once resolved they have made up lost time again and although they have lost 4 places in the vehicle ranking, the Dakar is not won on the 3rd day of the race.
The Toyota Hilux are also still very new and later in the race it will pay them not to push the Toyota Hilux to its limits so early in the race!
