Toyota South Africa Motors proudly introduces the updated Corolla Cross GR-S, the latest addition to its award-winning Corolla Cross range. Infused with the unmistakable DNA of Toyota Gazoo Racing, the GR-S elevates the compact SUV segment with sportier styling, refined driving dynamics, and enhanced interior finishes tailored to South African lifestyles. Building on the success of the locally produced Corolla Cross, this new derivative adds a fresh level of excitement, reinforcing Toyota’s commitment to vehicles that perfectly balance practicality, reliability, and emotional appeal.

From the moment it arrives on the scene, the Corolla Cross GR-S makes a confident statement. Its bold black mesh grille, sleek LED headlamps with sequential indicators, and sporty skid plate define a distinctly athletic front. Along the sides, refined mouldings and newly designed 18-inch six-spoke machined alloy wheels accentuate its dynamic stance, while the rear boasts signature lighting, a blacked-out badge, and a sculpted skid plate that complete its performance-inspired aesthetic.

Step inside and the cabin delivers a more engaging and premium experience. Black leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, GR branding, and red seatbelts create a sporty character, complemented by aluminium sports pedals and a piano black centre console with subtle red accents. Technology and convenience have been seamlessly integrated, with a 10.1-inch display audio system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster providing clear, connected access to key information. Features such as a 360° Panoramic View Monitor, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a power back door with kick sensor make everyday driving effortless. Paddle shifters on the petrol variant and an Electric Parking Brake across the range enhance both engagement and convenience, while seven airbags ensure strong safety credentials for all occupants.

The Corolla Cross GR-S also delivers a refined driving experience for local roads. Its suspension has been tuned for confident handling and optimal comfort, whether navigating urban streets or long-distance journeys. Efficiency remains a key strength, keeping running costs low without compromising performance. Advanced driver assistance systems provide further peace of mind, underlining Toyota’s commitment to occupant safety.

Proudly built in South Africa, the Corolla Cross GR-S exemplifies Toyota’s ongoing investment in the local automotive industry while showcasing globally inspired design tailored to local conditions. Offered in three bi-tone colours—Glacier White, Chromium Silver, and Arizona Red—each paired with a black roof, the model is now available at Toyota dealerships nationwide.

The Corolla Cross GR-S range starts at R527 000 for the 1.8 GR-S petrol variant, while the 1.8 GR-S HEV is priced at R569 700. All models come with a 6-services/90 000 km service plan, a 3-year/100 000 km warranty, and an 8-year/160 000 km hybrid battery warranty. Owners can also register for MyToyota for easy access to vehicle information and enjoy in-car WiFi with 25GB data plus a suite of Toyota Connect services, keeping them seamlessly connected on every journey.
