Toyota Gazoo Racing Junior Academy Shines at Vereeniging Raceway
Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Junior Academy delivered outstanding performances at Vereeniging Raceway this past weekend during Round 3 of the Northern Regions Kart Championships, bolstering their regional karting aspirations.
In the Mini MAX class, the academy’s youngest prodigy, Tshepang Shisinwana, exhibited remarkable talent. He claimed victories in the first two heats, positioning himself for a potential clean sweep. Unfortunately, a mishap on the opening lap of the final heat thwarted his chances, leaving the former national champion to settle for an overall second-place finish.
In the Senior MAX category, Kent Swartz showcased his dominance once again with an exceptional performance. The class rookie extended his lead in the regional championship standings, clinching the overall win with two victories and a third-place finish. His consistent performance highlights his growing prowess and potential.
In the premier DD2 class, Jason Coetzee and Karabo Malemela finished first and second, respectively. Coetzee achieved two wins and a runner-up finish, securing the top spot for the round. Malemela, with three podium finishes and a best result of second place, remains a strong contender for regional championship honors.
As the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship approaches its halfway point, anticipation builds for Round 4, scheduled for 22 June at Zwartkops Kart Raceway.
