Celebrating Formula 1 at Goodwood
The 2024 Festival of Speed celebrated its 20th anniversary with a spectacular lineup of current and former Formula 1 teams, drivers, and cars. The highlight was Max Verstappen, the three-time Formula 1 World Champion, making his Festival of Speed debut in the RB16B, the car he drove to his first world title in 2021.
Joined by Sergio Pérez and Christian Horner, along with former Red Bull drivers David Coulthard, Christian Klien, Daniel Ricciardo, and Mark Webber, the event offered fans a unique opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Oracle Red Bull Racing. The team’s drivers, who collectively hold 97 Formula 1 race wins, were celebrated by enthusiastic fans.
Five other current Formula 1 teams were also present: BWT Alpine F1 Team, Scuderia Ferrari, McLaren Formula 1 Team, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, and Williams Racing. Fans enjoyed the rare opportunity to see legendary cars and meet drivers like Alex Albon, Fernando Alonso, and Logan Sargeant.
Motorcycle Legends Take to the Hill
Michael Dunlop, the most successful rider in the history of the Isle of Man TT, rode his 2024 IOM TT Superstock bike. He was joined by John McGuinness and Peter Hickman, creating a thrilling spectacle. Richard Petty, celebrating 75 years in motorsport, was a notable attendee, alongside his famous 1970 Plymouth Superbird.

Future Lab, presented by Randox, showcased cutting-edge technology with themes like ‘Protecting the Planet’ and ‘Robots to the Rescue’. The Indy Autonomous Challenge returned, featuring the world’s first fully-autonomous racecar, the AV-24.
Electric Avenue: The Future of Mobility
Electric Avenue featured a wide array of electric vehicles, including the BMW i5 Touring and Hyundai IONIQ 5 N. This exhibition highlighted the advancements in electric mobility.
Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d’Elegance
The Cartier Style et Luxe concours d’elegance displayed some of the most exquisite vehicles, with the 1937 Bugatti Type 57S Corsica taking the ‘Best in Show’ title.
Bonhams|Cars Auction
The Bonhams|Cars Auction featured a collection of unique vehicles, with highlights including a 1928 Mercedes-Benz 36/220 S-Type Four-Seated Sports Tourer selling for £2,871,000. The auction achieved a total of £11,035,691, the highest for a Bonhams|Cars’ UK sale in 2024.
Forest Rally Stage
The Forest Rally Stage saw current and former rally drivers competing in cars such as the 2014 Peugeot 208 T16 R5 and the 2024 Ford Fiesta Rally2. WRC drivers Elfyn Evans and Dani Sordo showcased their skills in the Toyota Yaris Rally1 Hybrid and Hyundai i20N WRC.

The Surtees Pavilion offered a unique dining experience curated by Michelin-starred chef Ollie Dabbous, featuring the finest produce from the Goodwood Estate.
